HOW TO LEAD THROUGH THE CHANGE? Management or leadership? Both of them are needed for organizational change, although they have different roles to play. Leadership produces change, transformation and disruption, while management produces order and consistency. Leadership is about creating a vision for change, while management is about translating the vision into agendas and actions. Viewing leadership as a process stresses that it is a two-way, interactive event between leaders and individuals rather than a linear, one-way event in which the leader affects individuals only. It means that leaders affect and are affected by their employees either positively or negatively. More importantly, it means that leadership is not restricted to just one person in a team, department or organization who has positional power, usually the formally appointed leader. Instead it makes it available to people throughout the organization. Commitment is an important enabler of change. Irrespective of how brilliant a vision may be, if employees do not buy into it then very little will change. One way to build commitment is to create an environment in which the people most affected by change have a role in shaping it. #changemanagement #leadership #changecommunication #internalcomms #change

Leadership isn’t just about having power; it's about making powerful choices. To rise to the top in the competitive business landscape, it is important to focus your efforts on honing specific leadership skills. Peter F. Drucker offers eight mindset shifts to help you master the essentials of executive leadership: 1. Figure out the need: Great leaders ask great questions. They pinpoint what needs doing to move forward. 2. Business first: Their compass always points towards the business's success, making sure every decision fits the overarching goals. 3. Develop a strategy: Executives make sure to set clear, practical strategies to tackle challenges head-on. 4. Own It: They stand by their decisions, taking full responsibility for their actions and results. 5. Drive clear communication: They make sure to tailor their communication approach to ensure that everyone is on the same page. 6. Spot opportunities: They keep an eye out for opportunities that tie back to the bigger picture. 7. Run effective meetings: Executives focus on promoting innovation, decision-making, and inspiration, all while maintaining focus on the agenda at hand. 8. Collaborative: Finally, they build a “we” culture, where every voice counts and every team member is part of the success. Are you ready to master these skills and become a leader that stands out? Proven Systems to Create Winning Strategies • Follow for actionable advice from 20+ years of helping global leaders move beyond old-school strategic planning to make better strategy • Fast and pragmatic.
HOW TO DEVELOP STRATEGIC LEADERS The biggest challenge in strategy execution is closing the gap between day-to-day activities and the strategy. When launching a new strategy, teams often complain that it comes on top of their regular business and that there’s no time because they are so busy with the day-to-day. But the strategy should be your day-to-day, shouldn’t it? How else can you expect to execute it successfully? ⎯ 👉 To drive strategy execution successfully, you need to align the activities your department or team engages in daily to the strategy. Aligning activities means deciding how much time and effort the department and every person on the team invest in what activities. ⎯ Blue Ocean Leadership by INSEAD professors W. Chan Kim and Renée Mauborgne takes this idea further to leadership development programs. „Blue Ocean Leadership provides a systematic way to unlock the ocean of unrealized talent and energy in your organization fast and at low cost. It achieves this while conserving leaders’ most precious resource: TIME. Blue Ocean Leadership in essence, can be thought of as a service that people in an organization either ‘BUY’ or ‘DON’T BUY’.“ – W. Chan Kim & Renée Mauborgne ⎯ 🚀 CALL TO ACTION: 1️⃣ Check last week’s calendar: How much time did you spend on what activities? 2️⃣ Create an assessment from 1-5: How well do these activities align with the company strategy? 3️⃣ Plan next week: What activities do you want to keep doing, stop doing, start doing, reduce? #strategy #leadership #leadershipdevelopment

Senior Operations Manager @ Target | Strategic Leader, Continuous Improvement, Leadership Development | Driving Results, Developing High-Performing Teams, and Developing High Performing Leaders
In leadership, action is the compass guiding change, not merely flagging the obstacles. As leaders, we're often tempted to identify issues, but true leadership demands us to transform from observers to activators of change. Here is how: 🔹 Leadership Means Action: It's not enough to highlight problems; real leadership emerges in the actions taken to address them. 🔹 Proactive Problem-Solving: Effective leadership involves initiating solutions rather than merely spotting issues. 🔹 Impactful Change Comes from Action: The true power of leadership lies not in identifying problems but in the implementation of solutions. 🔹 Empowerment through Action-Oriented Leadership: Engage in actions that steer progress and inspire others to do the same. By embracing action-oriented leadership, you'll shift from a bystander to a agent for change, driving impactful transformations within your team or organization. Leadership isn't a spectator sport; it's about taking the helm, steering towards solutions, and driving change rather than just identifying roadblocks. _________ → Like, Comment, and hit the 🔔 → Repost ♻️ if you found this useful → Follow for actionable tips on leadership and personal development #Leadership #LeadershipDevelopment #Management

Ever noticed how some leadership teams seem to act with a single mind? It's more than just coincidence - it's a strategic alignment of values. This is especially true in small- to medium-sized businesses, where leaders' influence is most potent. Take a moment to consider this: Does your leadership team reflect shared principles and goals? If yes, congrats. You've established a strong value-based culture. If there's even a shadow of doubt, it's time to pause and reassess. Start by ensuring you have clarity about your own value system. Once that's in place, the next crucial step is to articulate these values - not just vaguely sketched ideals but well-defined principles everyone in your organization can understand and pursue. Alignment isn't a good to have - it's a must! It's a critical factor that can make or break the company's vision and mission. This is like fine-tuning an engine for peak performance. When done right, the whole system runs smoothly. At Beyond Your Shadow, we're passionate about helping leaders with leadership development within their teams. Especially when it comes to overcoming alignment challenges to ensure your organization functions as a cohesive unit. When leaders are united, the entire organization moves forward. #BeyondYourShadow #Leadership #Leader #CoreValues #Alignment

Leadership isn't just about steering through change; it's about setting the course for it. Distinguishing between management and leadership is crucial—while the former deals with complexity, the latter navigates change. Yet, many companies are over-managed and under-led. Aspiring leaders, recognize that the higher the level of change, the greater the demand for true leadership. POTENTIAL FAILURE MODES: - Failure to allocate sufficient time and mental resources to understand the external landscape and its impact on your business. Without this insight, you risk missing new opportunities or threats that could be detrimental. - Over-reliance on corporate management mechanisms—such as planning, budgeting, and corporate calendars—while neglecting essential leadership behaviors. Remember, effective leadership extends beyond administrative processes. It requires vision, adaptability, and foresight. I have been talking a lot about failure modes, because they have proven to be a common training topic amongst my clients. Inside of one of my three main service packages (Training, Consulting and Coaching) we will address these potential failure modes and other leadership growth opportunities that will help take your company to new heights.
