Forget the 0 to 1! Is the Hardest Part Actually the -1 to 0? 🤔 Aspiring and emerging founders in the Embarc community report facing three primary obstacles when beginning their entrepreneurial journey: 1. Idea Generation 2. Funding 3. Fear of Failure To address these challenges, Hannah Abdel-Hadi and I at ZINC hosted a panel discussion with inspiring founders and Embarc to share candid insights on the realities of founding businesses in climate and health tech. Key Takeaways: 1. Choosing the Problem: Kanu emphasised the importance of finding a problem you are truly passionate about solving to make the hard moments a little easier. 2. Increasing your 'surface area of luck': Richard touched upon building connections and being proactive to build up the chances of finding co-founders, customers, and investors. I call this 'organised serendipity.' 3. Leap of Faith: Abhinav mentioned that there will always be reasons why the timing isn't perfect and stressed the importance of taking the leap of faith and proving sceptics wrong. Special thanks to our panellists Dr Abhinav Bhansali, Richard Ng, and Kanu Batra, our moderator Ella Goldner (Levy), and the Embarc team Ronan Chambers, Vanesa Salamon, and Arya Tandon! Anticipating great things from Embarc’s founders on a mission to improve the health of people and the planet 🌍🏥

Co-founder@magicsauce.online - getting underestimated founders funded and investors better deal flow
It's been one of those weeks where I've met a lot of new people (with more to come tomorrow). Started the week meeting Kristi Holt 💡 - what a great product they've built. Something that helps people improve their emotional intelligence at Vibeonix. Stellar female founder. Jason H. - helping founders through tech & cash investment. Saleem Ahmad 🤎 - filling a real gap with his phenomenal experience to help founders who can't quite get the investor meetings they want get over the line. Get on one of his courses if you've got traction, product but just need that missing bit to get invested in. Adam Thomas-Brown - building awesome digital health infrastructure and a fund in Wales to help make the nation a pioneer in the space. Two more tomorrow while trying to close a mini round of my own and doing some more content/fixing my shit original content for the Magic Sauce Online platform. Big props to one of my advisers Kevin Withane (FRSA) too, the definition of good people. January is a fking slog, keep at it good people! #startuplife #startupfunding
