From detections of endangered hogfish in Bermuda to unexpected humpback whale DNA, we're helping Deutsche Bank gain crucial insights into ocean biodiversity to support conservation efforts, together with its partners the Whale and Dolphin Conservation and SailGP. But this project isn't just about discovery – it's a powerful example of connecting finance to environmental stewardship. In SailGP races, teams compete not just for the race podium, but also for the Impact League Podium. This innovative approach rewards positive environmental and social contributions, proving it's not just about racing boats - it's about racing to protect our oceans. This project showcases how finance and science can unite for environmental stewardship. Because a healthy economy depends on a healthy environment meaning financial leadership goes hand in hand with environmental responsibility. As part of this commitment they just released their new Impact Report focused on Sustainability. ♻ These types of reports carry the risk of being just created for the press. Nevertheless, we do believe that even the practice of looking at, assessing, and evaluating what has been done, and more importantly, what could be done in the near future is a very admirable business practice that should be implemented in all organizations, regardless of size or type of industry. 🏎️ So yay for F1 for taking the right first steps and setting ambitious goals, because that's how we will all be able to progress. Especially businesses that are notorious for having a very "polluting" history. 💨

OSM Thome Unveils Evigo: A New Sustainable Services Division Focused on Green Maritime Solutions OSM Thome has launched a new green services division called Evigo, marking a significant step towards sustainable maritime solutions. This move is in response to the increasing pressure on the maritime industry to meet environmental targets. Evigo aims to help clients navigate complex environmental regulations, adopt innovative sustainable solutions, and drive the industry towards a greener future while remaining competitive. The division will provide comprehensive, end-to-end solutions designed to simplify compliance with evolving environmental regulations and support maritime companies in meeting their ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) requirements. To lead Evigo, OSM Thome has appointed Pia Meling as Managing Director, effective March 2025. Meling is an internationally recognized leader in sustainable shipping and maritime decarbonization, with expertise in lifecycle decarbonization and green ship recycling. This development is part of OSM Thome's broader commitment to sustainability, which includes participating in green initiatives, such as the Green Shipping Programme (GSP), and collaborating with other companies to develop zero-emission vessels.
