I’m extremely proud of AtkinsRéalis’ track record of recruiting and developing early careers talent, so it’s always great to be part of our annual Early Careers Celebration event which marks the end of structured training for graduates and apprentices across the UK and Ireland. But the event also marks the beginning of exciting careers in an industry that can take you to so many places and make such a difference to the world around us. And for those embarking on the next stage of their early careers, I offered this advice: 🔸 Look for experiences, not just promotions (they will come). 🔸 Enjoy your technical work and don’t rush to be in ‘management’ (this will also come if you want it). 🔸 Make sure you understand how finance works, be that at project or business level.   🔸 Try new things: making sure you stand on the shoulders of giants by tapping into the incredible expertise across the organisation. 🔸 Raise issues and problems - with solutions. Always try to be a solutions provider. But, most importantly: take ownership of your career and drive it forward with energy, curiosity and determination. #earlycareers #graduates #apprentices
