Did you know as #YourLocalMind we raise our own funds which we use to support local people. We have our own board of trustees, who are responsible for how we’re run. This means we can offer support tailored to what our local communities want and need. There are many ways you can support us and help us to ensure that no one in Norfolk and Waveney has to face poor mental health alone. Push for Change with the 2024 Push-Up challenge Hey #TQST staff, have seen the TQ news? The #PushUPChallenge is posted on the SPOT home page. Before I could think twice I clicked on the link and now I've joined the TQ HSW #HealthSafetyandWellness team to raise money and awareness for mental health. This year the challenge is to complete 3,249 push-ups in 24 days, from 5-28 June (or 1,625 if you're aiming for the half-target). This represents the number of lives lost to suicide in Australia in 2022 (the most recent available data). Don't think too hard on it...get involved! You don't have to stick to push-ups if that's not your active thing. There's a great alternative exercise guide available from the Push-Up Challenge website.

🌍💚 World Suicide Prevention Day: Changing the Narrative 💚🌍 Today, Gallagher Group joins the The Lighthouse Charity to raise awareness for mental health in the construction community. With over 700,000 lives lost to suicide each year, we must change the narrative surrounding this issue. The theme for World Suicide Prevention Day is “Changing the Narrative on Suicide,” urging us to Start the Conversation. Every conversation—no matter how small—can help break down the stigma surrounding mental health and suicide, creating a more supportive society. Let’s prioritise mental health in our workplaces and advocate for policies that provide vital support. Together, we can make a difference. Remember, you are never alone. 💪💛 #WorldSuicidePreventionDay #GallagherGroup #LighthouseCharity #ChangingTheNarrative #StartTheConversation #MentalHealthMatters

This week is Mental Health Awareness week in the UK, a topic that is very important to me. The theme this year is “Movement: moving more for your mental health” – if I was to list some top-tips with the theme of mental health in mind, using movement as medicine would be right up there. My others would be: - Sometimes you don’t need to fix, you just need to listen. - Use non-judgemental language when talking – the term “commit suicide” for example implies fault, which is incredibly unhelpful and inaccurate. - Treat yourself as you would treat a friend. For more on this, check out Kristin Neff’s Ted Talk on self-compassion. - There is no shame in struggling, but there’s huge bravery in talking about it. - Most importantly be kind, curious and patient, with yourself and others. https://lnkd.in/eYmEYu-h #mentalhealth #MHAW2024 #MoveForMentalHealth

As many of you know, this week is Mental Health Awareness Week💙 At Cubitt & West it’s important to us to look after the wellbeing of our colleagues. That’s why our people have 24/7 confidential access to trained therapists, plus selected financial and legal advice. When life is busy, it can be tricky finding time for wellbeing-boosting activities. 🤸♂️ Click the link to get some tips from the Mental Health Foundation : https://lnkd.in/e-mZGEaU #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek #Wellbeing #EstateAgents

It's Mental Health Awareness Week Every year, 1 in 4 of us will experience a mental health problem. Many people are speaking more openly about their own experiences and seeking support. But there are still so many people urgently waiting, not getting the help they need. An estimated 2 million people are on waiting lists for mental health services. Since 2017, the number of young people struggling with their mental health has nearly doubled. People tell us they feel overwhelmed and hopeless, that things will never change. That’s why for Mental Health Awareness Week 2024, we’re launching #NoMindLeftBehind and calling on everyone to raise awareness and vital funds. Together, we can make sure that no mind is left behind. Today, on World Mental Health Day, we shine a light on an issue that affects so many of our service users: the gap in mental health services for those facing homelessness in Northern Ireland Here at The Welcome Organisation, we work tirelessly to support individuals who are not only homeless but also dealing with complex mental health and substance use challenges. The lack of dual diagnosis services means many are left without the crucial support they need to address their struggles comprehensively. This absence has a devastating impact on their lives, often leaving them stuck in a cycle that feels impossible to escape. Every day, we do our best to bridge this gap - offering guidance, support, and hope. But we are operating on limited resources, and there is so much more to be done. We believe that everyone deserves access to appropriate mental health care, especially those who need it most Today, we ask you to stand with us. Advocate for better mental health support, spread awareness, and consider donating or fundraising. The modern economic system is a market economy, which is a capitalist economy where people, not the government--NOT THE GOVERNMENT--own most businesses. In a capitalist economy, prices allocate capital and labor between competing uses, and capital assets like factories, mines, and railroads can be privately owned and controlled. https://lnkd.in/eB98Jnv9 GOOGLE.
