Absolutely LOVE how 2024 is turning into the year of women’s sports. Here are just a few highlights thus far: 1. The Women’s March Madness Final Four game between Iowa and UConn had the largest audience of any basketball game in ESPN history. 2. The Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) has 1,100 sponsorship deals, creating a 25% increase from previous years. 3. At the end of 2023, the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) secured a $240 million domestic TV sponsorship deal with CBS, ESPN, Amazon, and Scipps. This deal is 40 times larger than previous agreement. 4. According to financial analysts at Deloitte, elite women’s sports will generate $1.28 billion in 2024 - this is an increase of 300% from three years ago. 5. Selfish plug - Dallas is now going to have a professional women’s soccer team called Dallas Trinity FC and they will be playing in the Cotton Bowl Stadium! (Season Membership Deposit secured) I’m very excited to continue to see the growth in women’s sports and to see how these elite athletes are impacting the next generation. #EqualPay #CaitlinClark #DallasTrinityFC #Gatorade #LPGA #NWSL

If you are in a leadership role and have the great pleasure of mentoring people, you never know what words will resonate in your conversations. You tend to think it's the longer suggestions you give them after listening to their challenge(s). But a lot of the time it's the seemingly small things said that resonate the most. #beaforcedontforce #sales #consultiveselling
Day 1 of the North Carolina Craft Brewers Conference and I had the privlage of attending a great presention by my former boss, Scott McWhorter presenting on “Be a force. Don’t Force.” Although I’m no longer in sales, these words still resonate with me. During trying times of Covid and sales, Scott shared this with me a few years ago and it stuck. Thanks for the insights and continued mentorship over the years! Grateful for the opportunity to connect and learn together this week! #knowledgeispower

I am, and each of the other 8,999 Flenderans are, immensely proud to work for a company with such #pedigree, #knowledge, #wisdom and #passion for moving the world. Starting with a humble wooden pulley, Flender moved forward with developing #couplings, #industrial #gearboxes (including the infamous FZG range) and the Winergy series of #Wind #Turbine gearboxes. This great history in understanding how to provide a reliable solution to our customers has resulted in gearboxes that continue to ensure a high level of uptime and #availability, in some of the most arduous applications. Over 125 years of designing #gears and couplings gives a solid foundation for the new generation of gearboxes, with the Flender One range leading the charge for the next 125 years and beyond incorporating integrated condition monitoring, higher efficiencies, and a simplified design process! Flender. We Move the World. #Wemovetheworld #Flender #FlenderOne #AIQ #ConditionMonitoring #Metaperform

This post will not make me popular. I know this, but I’m going to post it anyway. At 22 years old, the young man in the shared post has the road freight industry at his feet. He’s excited about his job, and his boss has put a lot of faith in him, which is awesome. He’s clearly worthy of such confidence and faith, which is rare in our industry. In short - he’s a diamond. However, if he doesn’t change his lifestyle, he’s not going to be around to fulfil his ambitions 😢 This is NOT a body shaming post. I’m very concerned for his future but I admit I don’t know what he’s eating; or drinking; or whether he’s exercising or not; or whether he has health conditions that cause him to appear, in the only photo I’ve seen of him, to be very overweight. My only concern is that he appears to be not of great health for a 22 year old. This is an amazing young person who has a wonderful future; the opportunity to have a family and maybe his own transport company. But if he doesn’t look after his health, it will be just a dream. A beautiful, tragic dream that isn’t realised. If we don’t start acting and doing something about the health of drivers in our industry, there won’t be an industry to worry about. I know that Healthy Heads in Trucks & Sheds has done amazing work with bp to offer wonderfully healthy options for drivers; but what happens when they’re not at a bp ? We need to do more. We need to encourage drivers to visit their Doctor every year as an absolute minimum to cover off all the items they should be for a health check. We need drivers to demand healthy options at truck stops, not fried food, regardless of whether it’s a bp or not. We need to promote healthy eating in the same manner as we promote mental health and road safety. Otherwise, people like Nick will become just another statistic of our industry. We need to do better for legends like him 💖
“I don’t think I’m going anywhere," beams young Nick Madden, 22. "I just love my job and I’m excited to go to work and I love what I do.”

When you ask how SmithCo’s growth has supported our customers for 30 years, that’s the main kicker: what the trailer can do. Customers tell me all the time that versatility is the deciding factor when it comes to comparing side dumps to other dump trailers. While some tasks are comparable, there’s other things end dumps and belly dumps just can’t do. Side dumps, on the other hand, can haul anything and dump anywhere. Operators don’t have to worry about wind or uneven ground. We tell people, whatever you put in, it’ll come out of a side dump. And that’s not the case with some other dump trailers. https://lnkd.in/g-m8_wWZ
