Today is National Disability Independence Day, commemorating the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) on July 26, 1990. We work with amazing organizations like ECHO and SPARC Solutions to ensure our community members with disabilities have the resources they need. We’re currently working with SPARC to construct a cardboard boat for the Cardboard Boat Regatta at Lake Anne in August. Please join us August 10th to celebrate the amazing work Northwest employees and SPARC have done: https://ow.ly/yi7E50SKsAs #NationalDisabilityIndependenceDay #ADA #SPARC #ECHO #Inclusivity

Today, we celebrate the 34th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act and Disability Pride Month! Signed into law on July 26, 1990, the Americans with Disability Act (ADA) prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities—both visible and non-visible—such as requiring employers to provide accommodations for individuals with disabilities and ensuring that buildings and public transportation are accessible. Our goal is to provide an inclusive and accessible space for our patients, visitors, and team members and advocate for equal opportunities for all. Join us as we celebrate and recognize achievements in this area while continuing to work toward bridging the gap in disability inclusion. #ADA #AmericansWithDisabilitiesAct #ADAanniversary #ADA34 #DisabilityPrideMonth #NationalDisabilityIndependenceDay #inclusivity #accessibility

National Disability Independence Day occurs every year on July 26, commemorating the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), which protects people with disabilities from discrimination of all kinds. In the disability community, able-bodied people are referred to as “temporarily able-bodied” as a reminder that a disability can occur to anyone and anytime– especially later on in life. GLP Attorneys is proud to support clients with disabilities and advocate for their rights. On National Disability Independence Day, we encourage you to learn more about ADA and how you can break stigmas and barriers within your community. July 26th marks National Disability Independence Day, which commemorates the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) into law in 1990. The ADA expands the rights of the disability community in a single law by offering protections from employment discrimination and providing accessibility to government, public establishments, transportation, and more. Trinity Development Alliance (TDA) strives to advance equity where there are no barriers because of disability. We do this by fostering strong relationships with for-profit and nonprofit partners that share our commitment to this approach to affordable housing development, service delivery and business management. Our aim is to provide the support to help the disability community thrive and live the best lives possible. Today (and every day), we celebrate and honor the disability community and the ADA. #CommunityUpgrowthSustainability #NationalDisabilityIndependenceDay #NationalDisabilityIndependenceDay2024 #DisabilityCommunity #Disability #AmericansWithDisabilitiesAct #ADA #Accessibility #Equity #AffordableHousing #RuralAffordableHousing

Today marks the start of Disability Pride Month. Created in 1990 in the United States to mark the passing of the Americans with Disabilities Act, 30 years on its title seems at odds with the social model of disability. While we celebrate disabled people in July, it can also be a time to prompt organisations to consider what is disabling about their products, services, their environments and workplaces, and the action they could take to change that. It can be a time to engage with disabled people and find out their views that can make that change meaningful and effective. We have four thousand members of our consumer panel who are ready to share their experiences. What's the one thing you could improve for your disabled customers or visitors? #DisabilityPrideMonth #DisabledPeople #Accessibility
