Petra Johnels, PhD, Koordinator/Projektledare för avancerade läkemedelsterapier (ATMP) - varför har du valt att gå Regulatory Affairs Academy och vad är dina förväntningar på utbildningen? ”Jag anmälde mig för att få en bättre bild över det regulatoriska landskapet hela vägen från idé till marknadsgodkänd produkt. Jag arbetar idag med att implementera ATMP i sjukvården, just nu med fokus på industrisponsrade kliniska prövningar och marknadsgodkända ATMP, men kommer framöver jobba mer mot produkter som utvecklas av akademin och som kommer tillverkas sjukhusnära. Min förväntan är alltså att jag ska få en bra helhetsbild över hela den regulatoriska processen! Vad tycker du om kurspaketet hittills? Jag har ännu bara genomfört fyra av kurserna men tycker att jag redan fått många värdefulla pusselbitar till helhetsbilden. Många bra föreläsare med en blandning av dels översiktspresentationer som varit mycket bra när man är ute efter helheten och dels presentationer ner på detaljnivå. Vilken del/kurs ser du fram emot mest i kurspaketet och varför? CMC, GDP, Regulatory strategies mfl är några av de kurser som jag tittade lite extra på från början. TLDR: To all the trainees out there, still in the academic trenches: It takes time and resources to figure out where it is that you want to go next, and it takes a village to actually arrive there. Don't hesitate to reach out to me with questions about my transition, requests for an informational interview, or for access to resources (may they be an online knowledge base or an introduction to my professional/personal network). I would be ecstatic to extend the generosity that was selflessly granted to me. ---------- The past few months have been filled with many exciting developments and meeting of several major milestones both in my private life and professionally. Now, that the emotions have settled - at least to an extent - it is my pleasure to officially share that I joined the Regulatory Affairs postgraduate program at Novartis. My life-long aspiration to help patients and to alleviate the burdens of the most pressing and unaddressed healthcare issues will now focus on ensuring that safe end effective medicines are actually reaching patients in need. On time, every single time. The transition from the scientific bench in academia to one of the biggest and most impactful pharmaceutical companies has been both exhilarating and complex - and certainly - would be also very challenging if navigated all by myself. Therefore, I would like to thank and acknowledge all friends, mutual friends, university alumni, acquaintances, and once-strangers-to-now-advocates who guided me along the way and enabled me to one day achieve my goal of becoming a Regulatory Affairs professional.
