This year, we have taken things to the next level and have organised heaps of exciting events and activities. "The library beyond the library" is a powerful concept - it helps to talk about the changing mission of libraries and reflects the expanding scope of their activities in response to impactful changes in their environment and through technology. Vin is currently a freshman at Texas A&M University, Galveston Campus. 🌟 Vin shares, " While my primary focus is on aerospace engineering, my choice to delve into a health-related research topic stems from personal experiences. Throughout my life, I've witnessed individuals grappling with diverse stress and anxiety issues, and I can personally relate to these challenges. In approaching this project, I wear the hats of both a researcher and a potential user. My goal is to enhance the app's performance, aligning with the team's expectations. By far the most enjoyable and fruitful experience I've had this summer was through SURP, but also the fact that I get to continue that research as my Senior Thesis. The research started off by trying to create a framework for a multi-tiered multi-agent environment that researchers can use to simulate any environment with multiple people with different roles that interact with each other. They would only need to put in their data and they could test interventions by changing certain variables in the simulation parameters rather than organizing an experiment in real life, which would save time, effort, and capital. While exploring the field's current implementations of multi-agent systems, which utilized Deep-Q Learning as the logic for each agent, we wanted to explore causal model based learning instead. This would involve fitting each agent with a causal model — a mimic to represent its worldview, which would then be supported by a feedback system depending on what actions the agent chose. That was the prime focus of this summer, and we have been making incredible progress on it. Seaver College of Science and Engineering highlighted the research I took part in along with David Yang and with the mentorship of Dr. Andrew Forney.
