This year we continued our commitment to work by invitation only, on communities’ chosen goals — an approach with self-determination at its core. Our team worked tirelessly to promote and continue this work, and we are thankful for each and every one of you who has partnered with us. Proven impact: This year, time and again, we saw firsthand how our grassroots approach underpinned by deep listening and trust leads to better outcomes. In 2022-23 we engaged with 106 communities on 170 community development projects. For each community development project, communities define what success looks like. During the year we monitored 202 of these indicators of success together and found they had a median increase of 70 growth points out of 100. 58 of these indicators of success saw a point change of 100! This is real and lasting change in First Nations’ communities.
