[CARBON REMOVALS] Good news for the timber industry: provisional agreement on a regulation to set up the 1st certification framework for carbon removals. CEI-Bois welcomes the Trialogue outcome, especially the recognition & support for “temporary carbon storage in long-lasting products (such as wood-based construction) of a duration of at least 35 years and that can be monitored on-site during the entire monitoring period”. 👉 https://lnkd.in/evKRQ2PP

Did you know that the WPWMA is home to the only active landfill in Placer County? There's a lot of misconceptions about landfills - but here at the WPWMA, we take precautions to make sure we're only landfilling materials that cannot be practically recycled or composted and develop our landfill in a way that's environmentally conscious, protects the health of our environment and community, and preserves landfill space for decades to come. This video from Practical Engineering does a great job explaining the many environmental protections, elaborate processes, and considerations that go into developing and utilizing a safe and environmentally conscious landfill. https://lnkd.in/gEqES_EK

Our very active Gypsum Committee met last week! It was a fantastic meeting with record attendance. Check out highlights from their discussions. CDRA members are encouraged to attend committee meetings to get the most out of their memberships. Join a committee today! https://lnkd.in/g3gxBCdz • Heidi Sanborn, MPA, Executive Director of the National Stewardship Action Council, informed us that legislation mandating gypsum drywall recycling is expected to be introduced during the 2025 session. The CDRA Gypsum Committee has offered to assist in drafting this legislation. • During a call with the EPA, CDRA representatives discussed the draft of WARM v16. The CDRA submitted general comments, along with the University of Florida's report on estimating potential GHG emissions, energy savings, and economic impacts of drywall lifecycle, sponsored by the CDRA. • The Committee suggested, and the board approved, initiating a pioneering Life Cycle Analysis for Gypsum Drywall recycling. Determining the optimal waste management strategy for a product or material isn't always straightforward for engineers and policymakers. Therefore, a life cycle analysis is crucial for predicting future outcomes based on today's decisions. #gypsum #CDRA #construction #demolition #recycling

Head of Client Engagement & Marketing at Ebsford Environmental Ltd | Contractor - Aquatic Restoration and Invasive Vegetation Management.
Soilfix Limited tackles all sorts of contaminated sites, from the relatively simple, to the much more complex... like this one. We love to embrace the challenge.👷🏽♀️💪🏽 #remediation #contaminatedland #regeneration
Soilfix Limited recently completed the technically complex remediation of a historic Tar Tank at a former #gasworks in south #London. This cylindrical brick structure was 15m in diameter and 5m deep, housing a mixture of #demolition rubble, water and tar liquor. The successful conclusion of this complex operation would not have been possible without the advanced planning and #collaborative approach taken by contractor, client and consultant. Also, a big thank-you to the professional services of Air Spectrum Environmental, Corgin Ltd, Augean, The Mick George Group, KKB Group and, (on behalf of our client) AtkinsRéalis, for helping to make this “remediation project” within the larger site-wide remediation, happen.
