How are you? A simple question but thanks to the various NTS Social Academy meetings we have learnt to ask ourselves, giving it the importance it deserves. Over the course of the next few posts we will share the basics of emotional vocabulary, which we also saw recently at the cinema release of ‘Inside Out 2’! And for you? How important is it to recognise one's own emotions to improve relationships in all spheres? #ntspeople #ntsmoulding #beyondmoulding #insideout #emotion

I get to facilitate super-fun stress relief and team-building workshops! Instead of lecturing, I condense all the information into short statements and create fill-in-the-blank cards by removing expected words or phrases. Then, I ask audience members to replace the [absurd] with something wildly unreasonable and invite volunteers to share their ideas, turning mundane content into engaging jokes. This humorous approach prepares participants for their next task: collaborating and transforming their shared complaints into comedy, which is the main focus of the workshop. Monday Motivation! Improvisers don't know what the story is going to be, what characters they are going to play, or even what the first line of the show is going to be. They have to step out and go! Improvisers learn by doing... they can only discover the rules of the game by playing it so there's no room for procrastination. We can carry that mindset into our day to day life. Acting before you feel quite 'ready' may feel daunting, but it might also stop you procrastinating on doing the things you've always dreamed of. The 'act before you are ready' principle involves asking yourself, 'what is the smallest step I can take right now but still learn from?'. Give up on the idea of ever being 'ready' and instead try that first step, get feedback, and then try again! #ImprovYourLife #Improvisation From Max Dickins book 'Improvise!'

Award-Winning Comedy Creativity Coach | Empowering Confidence & Unleashing Creativity | Founder of Jittery Citizens: Comedy Training for All | Pro Comedian Inspiring Laughter and Growth | 2x TEDx Speaker
In the world of comedy and improv, there's a powerful tool that keeps the creative juices flowing - the "Yes, and..." exercise. This technique encourages acceptance and builds upon ideas, fostering an environment where creativity thrives and confidence grows. I've personally experienced the transformative power of saying "Yes, and...". It was this very principle that led me to try stand-up comedy for the first time. I remember standing backstage, my heart pounding in my chest, when I decided to say "Yes, and..." to the opportunity. That decision changed my life forever, opening doors to a world of laughter, creativity, and self-confidence. Saying "Yes, and..." also led me to start my own training business, Jittery Citizens. It was a leap of faith, a big "Yes, and..." moment that has since empowered countless individuals to find their comedic voice and boost their confidence. And let's not forget about love! Meeting my husband also started with a "Yes, and...". It was a chance encounter, a shared laugh, and a willingness to see where the conversation would lead us. So, Angeldoves, think about moments in your life where you have said "Yes, and...". How has it impacted your journey? Share your stories in the comments! And if you're ready to embrace more "Yes, and..." moments, join the waitlist for our upcoming Core Confidence Masterclass. Let's step into our power and unleash our inner comedians together. #YesAnd #CreativityBoost #ConfidenceBuilder #ComedyTraining #ImprovTechniques #CoreConfidenceMasterclass Drop a "confidence" in the comments if you're excited to join us and don't forget to sign up for the waitlist! Improv comedy coach who can turn anyone into a charismatic, confident communicator ⚡️📢 My clients are speakers, businesses, and people who haven't felt creative in way too long
Did you know that the freshness of first time experiences tends to prolong time? Imagine doing the same things over and over, day after day, year after year. That's boring. That accelerates time. Want life to slow down? Learn a new art form. That's a new experience. I suggest an art form that is organically a new experience every single time. I suggest an art form that you're doing with other people (that's community). I joke that improv comedy is a "superfood" but the more I learn about aging and self-improvement, the more I realize I might be on to something. Life slows down when you take an improv class. Lucky for you, wherever you are, these Zoom classes are just as good as my in-person workshops. https://lnkd.in/ds2TRq_q

Master of Ceremonies | TEDx Speaker | Keynote Speaker | Public Speaking Trainer | Humourist & Corporate Comedian | Event Host | Magician & Mentalist | Speechwriter | Author
Public speaking can be terrifying, but it's also incredibly liberating. When I first started stand up comedy, I was a bundle of nerves. 😬 But with each comedy set, and ultimately each speaking opportunity, I found my confidence growing more and more! 🌱 One of my favourite tricks is to visualise the positive impact I will have on the audience and experience the amazing energetic exchange before it happens. This transforms any fear into total excitement! If I can do it, so can you! DM me if you want training so you can learn from my mistakes and fast-track your journey!

Cambridge University defines team building as “the process of encouraging members of a group to work well together, for example by having them participate in activities or games.” Well, that sounds fun! But have you ever considered encouraging a group to ‘work together’ is pretty vague? After all, they work together every day! Do we sign on for “team building” just to have fun? To collaborate? To be less toxic? To reach common ground? Fun is great, don’t get me wrong. But can ‘team building’ help to solve issues of belonging and communication? Over the holidays, I came across a sweet story of improv being used in Philadelphia classrooms. CBS Mornings featured the “Unscripted Project,” a nonprofit program, that seeks to help middle and high school students gain confidence and other life skills. They even note that improv helps students think fast on their feet, communicate, and collaborate with others. If middle and high school students can use the tool of improv in the classroom to better collaborate, increase communication, and, foster a sense of true belonging in a classroom…what is possible for your team in your workplace? Below is the video from CBS Mornings. I hope you’ll take a few minutes to see the joy on these students' faces and the security they feel in school.
The Unscripted Project gives improv comedy a serious role to teach students confidence
