Ensuring every mother receives the care she deserves during pregnancy is not just a moral imperative but a global health necessity. Group Antenatal Care (G-ANC) stands out as a transformative approach, offering personalized, supportive, and respectful care within a group setting. This innovative model not only provides essential medical attention but also fosters a sense of community among expectant mothers, enabling them to share experiences and support each other through their journey to motherhood. Jhpiego has been at the forefront of efforts to expand G-ANC, recognizing its potential to revolutionize maternal healthcare delivery. While our progress has been promising, the scale of our ambition demands exponential growth. That's why we recently convened the inaugural Global G-ANC "Catalyzer" event, uniting thought leaders and practitioners to chart a course for accelerated change. April 11-17 is recognized as National Black Maternal Health Week. Today, Care Ring (in partnership with Novant Health and Mecklenburg County) hosted a dynamic conference, emphasizing Black maternal health disparities and outlining ways to improve health outcomes. A common theme that resonated throughout was that "most pregnancy related deaths are preventable."
