Alright, so Clay just came out with a really cool integration slash source in collaboration with Ocean IO. For those who don't know what Ocean dot IO is, it's an incredible data source lookalike Finder that finds, in my opinion, the best look alikes in the market. Like there's really no other tool that I think it does a better job of finding similar companies to the one you feed it. On top of that, it doesn't just find pure look alikes, but can find look alikes based on filters. So for example, you can feed it apple.com, but let's say you only want to find the look likes of apple.com that are in the United States with 500 to 1000. Employees and you're using HubSpot or Salesforce, you can do that. And the tool has been really awesome even before it integrated with Clay, but I'm pretty pumped because it now is a full integration with the tool. So in this video, I wanted to walk through a flow that I built out using the integration and source and just kind of show you generally how it works, why it's so helpful and what you can use it for in the future. So I decided to do a little bit of a, an inception moment, if you will, where I do a campaign on behalf of Clay trying to find more. Integrations, and I'm going to be using Ocean dot IO to do this. So if you've used Clay before, you understand that the tool essentially is an aggregation of a bunch of technologies that have their APIs connected to Clay, and you use those data sources to find data. So Clay isn't actually the provider of this data, it's the data sources that they're partnering with. So for example, you go in here, you go into integrations and you see all these companies that Clay integrates with, they're constantly adding new ones just like Ocean dot IO. So I figured I would run a campaign. That pretty much reaches out to other companies asking them to integrate with clay. And I figured that would be really cool because mostly Clay is looking for companies that are really similar to what they already have integrated. You know, other data providers that find emails or phone numbers or you name it, right? So I decided to list out 10 companies that clay currently integrates with that I want to find look alikes for. So these are all already within the tool, but I figured we could look alike A5 of these and find ones that are similar and reach out to them asking, hey, do you want to be? Part of clays integration library. So I wanted to find look alikes that were 11 plus employees based in these countries and cannot be one of clays existing integrations. Of course, you know, why would we reach out to somebody who already partnering with. And I wrote really basic copy, Hey, first name, a trigger based intense signal first line. I'll go through that in a second. We'd be interested in discussing a company name and clay product in exchange for a discount because in essence, we're buying this company's API credits. So you know, the ideally we're getting some sort of discount for buying so many of them. We're writing another custom based first line. This integrations line is pretty much going to be saying, hey, we already integrate with these three tools that are similar to you. And then just saying any interest in discussing? A little bit of social proof or whatever, you get the point. I'm pretty basic. Copy this trigger. First line I'm writing is just going through these three intense signals and writing a first line. If a company matches any one of these 3 and 10 signals, and of course, if they don't match an intense signal, we have a backup. So very simple campaign, but I kind of just want to show you the functionality of the tool. So if you go to clay.com and you decide to hop into your table and create a source using ocean dot IO, you'll see here that all you have to do is throw in the company domains of the companies you want to find look alikes for. Then you can also exclude any domains if you wanted to. Company sizes, countries, keywords is a ton of different filters. You get the point. So I use this I entered. All of this information in my ocean campaign, all of these different, you know, domains put in this criteria and voila, we have a list of 98 companies that popped out that were look alikes of the 10 that I fed it. You can see it's filtered down to 62 now and you'll see why that is the case in just a second. But I just want to note how good this did. Like it really was an incredible look alike Finder. Like, I mean, this is a space I operate in daily and a lot of these companies are, you know, the up and coming tools that aren't existing. Are currently existing within the clay ecosystem that I was a lot of them I would imagine we would actually want to integrate with. So it did an incredible job of finding these local lakes, which is just great for a variety of reasons. And after I get this campaign, I'll kind of go through why I think this is so great. But we have the name, we have the domain of the company and if you click on the source, it actually has an insane amount of other data keywords related to the company, 100 keywords related to the company, which helps you actually find the score. We have the company size industries, year. Lot of technologies, you get the point. There's an insane amount of data every time you find these look alikes, which is why it's worth the one credit you're paying per look alike record. We put out the name and domain. The first thing I wanted to do is of course, I wanted to make sure they weren't an existing integration within Clay. So I made a little formula fed in every single integration clay has in this panel right here and boom, filter out any of the ones that already existed. I also had to make sure they had an API. If you know how Clay works, it's pretty much just getting the APIs of all these tools in the enrichment panel, connecting it to Clay. Clay is obviously on a super, super high credit plan. Some of these APIs are exclusive. You can't even access them publicly and that's how they connect. So if these tools don't have an API, there's no way they can be a Clay integration. So I had to use Clay Agent and I did an incredibly simple prompt here, script the domain, tell me whether they have an API, boom, that's it. And all the ones that did I popped out here, says true, we're good. And I would, of course, I wanted to exclude the ones that didn't have an I just put a check box here. The next thing I wanted to do was I wanted to match this look alike company with three existing companies within the clay ecosystem that already exist. So, for example, zoom info, I don't know if they would ever want to agree with, but Apollo clear bit and signal higher are three companies that already integrate with clay that are similar to Zoominfo. And they did a really, really good job of this sat out open AI and you know, GPT 4 O. They killed it on this. I prompted it by saying I'm gonna give you a company description, match the company with some of the others, pop out three companies that are similar to the one I'm feeding you, and then I give a description using Kajabi. Just fed it all of this A1 sentence description on every single integration that clay has. Boom, popped out three of them. And once we figure out the industry that this this tool is in. Again, just using Open AI, we fed it and created this first line. We integrate with our we already integrate with other engagement tools like Amplify, Lead Magic and Outreach. B to B prospecting, totally amplify, Phantom Buster and snove. You get the point. It is writing a custom line, the one I have right here for me automatically. So after that, I normalize the company name and I went ahead and looked for people that work at this company. Of course, we only want to reach out to people. There's really not a way to reach out to just companies. So we wanted to find decision makers at these 62 companies. Who are right here. We have 674 people that we found that matched, like the C-Suite filter that I pretty much fed the people Finder. By the way, clays People Finder has gotten so much better. Shout out to David Stevens for fixing it. So highly recommend using it now anyway. Next, I wanted to do this whole trigger first line. So we have the recently hired the head count growth and the website traffic. And in short, I just wanted to create a incent signal waterfall in clay to check to see whether the companies or people fit any of the personalizations or let's say intense signals that I was looking for. So the first ones recently hired, I enriched the person in clay found their their their start date of the most recent job, which is just to get to their latest experience. Pop this puppy out right here. And when they are recently hired within the past six months, it writes a first line for me. So this formula is really just saying simply. Oh oh, I just got logged out. OK, there we go. Well, maybe I wasn't supposed to show the formula, but pretty much it's saying when this person was hired in the last six months, pop this line out. So Congrats on the new role over at Blank. You get the point. Next, I did head count growth of the company's head count growth over the past 12 months was over 10%. I wrote yet another line right here and then we have this checkbox checked if that is the case. And then if their website traffic was over, I think 25,000 or so people a year, we have a first line based on their website traffic. Just saying, hey, I saw your 273 K plus person web traffic last month. Congrats. Yadda, yadda yadda, Then here's our backup. We aggregate all of them into a first line here, so whatever content signal they match, it prints that first line out right here. We're gonna be using this e-mail campaign. Then we have that line we created in the last table. We find the person's e-mail and we send it to smartly. So that was a very fast run through of what this is. But let me explain quickly again why ocean dot IO is so amazing. It's able to find your best customer, or if let's say a customer that you've already killed it for. Let's say, for example, you're running, in my case, a sales automation agency or clay agency, and I had a client that was a B to B SAS company that operated in like Martech or something. Or you know, let's just say like BS company that operated in freight. I I could now find every other freight related B2B SAS company, reach out with a case study and say, hey, I already killed it for your competitor, why wouldn't you hire me? So you can send out these ridiculously relevant and personalized e-mail campaigns to look alikes that can segment down with very high accuracy the best customers you've had before ever. I think it's incredible. Yeah. If if you wanted to, you could even create another lead list. Let's say you send out a campaign, you get 20 positive responses. You feed all of those positive responses into ocean dot IO and suddenly you have another lead list built from your positive responses. And you can just keep iterating on that over and over.
