October marks #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth - a time to highlight the devastating impact of breast cancer on thousands of Australians. Every day, 58 #Australians face a breast cancer diagnosis. #TheNationalBreastCancerFoundation (NBCF) aims to achieve Zero Deaths by focusing on the 8% who don’t survive beyond five years. NBCF relies on the generosity of Australians to fund vital research in prevention, detection, treatment, and improving quality of life. If you are interested in donating to a cause, funds are being raised for PhD candidate Moganalaxmi Reckdharajkumar's vital project. Her project aims to uncover how metastatic breast cancer cells manipulate surrounding cells to aid their growth and progression: https://lnkd.in/gwHbhuQH Breast Cancer Network Australia

When non-profits collaborate, humanity wins. The American Association for Cancer Research The Lustgarten Foundation Swim Across America teamed together to award grant funding to Dr. Ajay Goel's research that will hopefully make progress in detection for pancreatic cancer which is the 3rd leading cause of death among cancer types. The early results of a study Dr. Goel and his City of Hope team published this week show a 97% accuracy for stage 1 and stage 2 pancreatic cancer detection. Early detection will give oncologists options when treating patients with pancreatic cancer vs. a near certain outcome of death. Please, support any of these three non-profits, they are making the world better https://lnkd.in/eCj8Epzs
