Fantastic panel discussion at EXPO REAL (Messe München) yesteray debating ‘Buildings in Transformation: From Vacancy to Vibrancy’.   Great insights shared by fellow panellists Duncan Swinhoe, Managing Principal, Gensler, Alicia Hayward, Developer, alstria office REIT-AG, Shravan Joshi MBE, elected member of City of London Corporation, and Rebecca Heron, Strategic Director of Growth and Development for Manchester City Council, as we tackled some of the biggest challenges facing the #CRE sector.    What did I learn from the session?   1. Real estate owners should prioritise understanding how people want to use space before jumping to a change of use agenda.    2. Wholesale change of use class is not the answer, but a multi-threaded approach to delivering amenity and using technology to connect communities, and drive further insights.   3. Reaching a bi-partisan agreement on the 15-minute city urban planning concept will be a challenge, but it's not impossible.   How would I sum up the session? The future of the real estate economy is dependent on connecting people with space in a more meaningful way – real estate has evolved from a commodity to a service and now to an experience.     A big thanks to Juerg Erismann, Executive Director of Matreco Real Estate Investment Managers for moderating the session brilliantly and to the audience who raised some great questions in the Q&A session.   Looking forward to returning to Munich next year - what an amazing city. #EXPOREAL #realestate #PropTech #built environment #commercialrealestate #future of work #technology #innovation

The Vista ‘View’ hospitality area at Retail Technology Show by Yoonity Exhibitions, fronted by the friendly and dedicated Vista Technology Support team Lewis Goodridge, Angelika Niemanski, Borys Krywyj and David Hunter. ⚡ As you entered the hospitality area, a large branded LED screen immediately grabbed attendee’s attention. Lower level comfy furniture, additional screens and the all important shrubbery added to the outdoor summer park, picnic vibe (which isn't shown here 😊 ). 💡 There are many ways to dress a stand/space; cladding existing shell scheme structure, using modular systems, bespoke manufacture or installing experiential tech.
