📊 Today I had a great opportunity to conduct a workshop for my colleagues from M&P Communications about the Barcelona Principles and their role in evaluating the effectiveness of PR campaigns. The Barcelona Principles are a set of seven principles that serve as a framework for effective PR evaluation. They were developed and updated in 2010 and 2015 and 2020 by the International Association for Measurement and Evaluation of Communications (AMEC Measurement and Evaluation) with the participation of leading PR professionals from around the world. I am grateful to Taisia Stadnichenko for the opportunity to enhance my knowledge and learn more about measurement in PR. I am sincerely thankful to my colleagues for such a productive and practical discussion. It is very valuable to me! 💗

This time of year is often the only point when we reflect on what we've achieved. So it feels kind of perfect timing to consider entering your work for an award. There are just a few weeks left to enter before the early deadline for the PRmoment awards and I'm happy to say that I'll be part of the judging panel again this year. I really look forward to this opportunity as it's rare to see so much outstanding work collated in one place - and if I'm really lucky, in a pretty PDF with video links. 😇 This is my third year judging now and I've seen some common themes, so here are some of the things that I look for in a stand-out award entry: ❤️🔥Make me feel something - the most powerful entries I see are tied to campaigns that have a brief that makes you think, wow that was difficult/they had no budget/that topic was so polarising - and look how that team had to work to generate impact and most importantly, resonate with often a huge target audience 👌🏻Cut the jargon - tone of voice goes a long way in bringing an award entry to life, keep it real 📈Go beyond press coverage metrics - seeing the dots connect across multiple channel metrics is super satisfying for me to read, so I can only imagine how that must feel in real life for you 🤓Proof read your work - I know, boring, but nothing distracts me like a typo! Demonstrating value as PR professionals is forever a conversation and arguably it's never been more needed now - as are we as comms experts - but that's a different post!
