Did you ever get exhausted managing one person, but then around another one you would feel more energy? It has a lot to do with how motivated someone is. The more motivation someone needs, the more you will have to push them to do anything. Hiring these kind of people will hurt company's culture, team performance and your peace of mind. How can you tell if someone is self-motivated? I heard this tip from Jay Papasan, co-author of The ONE Thing. With his team, he asks himself this simple question: Do I say WHOA or Giddy Up more often? One is more exhausting. The other one is energy giving. What do you think? Thinking back to managing your team members, could you tell if it was Whoa or Giddy Up? And not just with your team, but with other people in your life as well? https://lnkd.in/gQ5YWZy8

Radical Candor emphasizes the importance of giving sincere and specific praise, helping your team understand exactly what they're doing well. 💜 Generic "good jobs" don’t carry as much weight as detailed feedback like, "Wow, your presentation was really great. It’s clear you put in a lot of work. I especially liked how you highlighted X, explained Y, and presented Z so clearly." Specific praise not only boosts morale but also helps reinforce positive behaviors and skills. It shows that you are paying attention and genuinely appreciate the effort and talent of your team members. Who agrees?!? 🙌 Share your thoughts and experiences on giving and receiving feedback in the comments below! #WorkLife #CorporateLife #OfficeLife #9to5 #WorkplaceCulture #WorkLifeBalance #OfficeHumor #CareerAdvice #BossLife #WorkHumor #TaylorSwift #Overthinking #Funny #BossLife #Feedback #FeedbackMatters

How many circles can you check off? Developing an "agreeable" personality is key to drawing people to you as friends or colleagues. These skills are defined by how we view and cope with the world's daily challenges. They help us gracefully handle what the world throws at us and encourage us to support others as people to be cared about rather than compete with for "top dog" positioning. Strengthening these essential abilities can lead to greater success and fulfillment in both professional and personal settings. #personalitydevelopment #professionaldevelopment #success

Performance Improvement | Strategic Alignment | Leadership and Team Effectiveness | Culture Change | NYU Stern MBA
😖 "Conflict allows the team to come to terms with difficult situations, to synthesize diverse perspectives, and to make sure solutions are well thought-out” Working with teams, the most common rationale for avoiding conflict is not wanting to hurt others' feelings. As humans, we're hardwired to want acceptance. Shifting the mindset to, "its our job to create healthy friction" can help to ease discomfort. Find time this week to make a (however caveated) challenge to the thinking and create some good friction and quality dialogue. #alignment #qualityconversations #healthyconflict #mindsets #teamdevelopment

Connecting 100s of people a month | Sales at Intail.ai | Sales at Countit | Sales & Growth development Advisor | Professional networker
Someone in our closest group of friends knows a secret that can change our lives. This month, for the first time, I initiated a feedback session with a friend who has known me for 20 years. Through thick and thin—working side by side, partying till we dropped—he's seen me evolve and navigate relationships, friendships, and all those highs and lows of life. He knows me very well. So, I asked for feedback! The genuine kind, like the stuff you might get from your bosses at work that's meant to help you level up in your career. But this time, it was all about the personal stuff. About me as a human, not just an employee. Turns out, the people around you know a ton about how you act and they've been along for the ride on your journey. Here's how you do it: 1. Meet with a specific friend (!!) whom you trust, who really knows you and can tell you the hard truth. 2. Arrange a time and day to meet them, and ask them to come up with 2 things you could improve on and 2 things you're nailing. Naturally, you'll do the same for them. 3. Meet up, check your ego at the door, and come with an open heart. 4. Listen and soak it all in. Pro tip for those who wanna go the extra mile - if 2 or 3 people point out the same things about you, definitely ponder over those 🙂 It's a window into how you're seen by others. Let me know how it goes! #networking #Goldenkey #selfreflection

True motivation isn’t related to money: It’s related to each individual’s values as well as your company culture. Here are some things to consider: ✅ Intrinsic Motivation - refers to the sense of accomplishment a person gets from completing a certain task or from their job overall. ✅ Leverage the Six Human Needs - certainty, significance, variety, love/connection, growth and contribution. Understand which motivates your team ✅ Know and share your vision - Learning how to inspire your team starts with learning what inspires you. Discover your purpose ✅ Prioritize employee well-being - Modern team inspiration isn’t just about growth – it’s about their well-being. Check in on your team, you'll get another gear if you do ✅ Trust your team - There is no greater motivator than to release your team from being micromanaged Elevate your team, and in turn be uplifted yourself.
