5 years ago we became London's first B Corp Brewery and in fact to this day we remain London's only B Corp certified Brewery. We often get asked what it means to be a B Corp, because yes it's an incredibly proud moment when it first happens, but that journey to certification is only the start of the story. For us it's a values basis that we hire by, it's a way that we show up at events, how we host, how we source our ingredients or brew our beer, it's a north star when making decisions within our business. At a time when the pressure is well and truly on for independent SMEs, try not to let cost put you off being a positive change-maker or as we like to call it, a Big Thinker. As being passionate and actively engaging in the conversation doesn't need to cost you a penny, and we need the weight of voice now more than ever to ensure that our collective actions don't cost us the earth. So to all those thinking big when it comes to doing better by people and our planet, whether on a micro or macro scale, Happy B Corp Month!! #bcorp #bcorpmonth #bcorpcertified B Lab and B Lab UK #sustainability #innovation #midstrength #beer Felix James, James Grundy, #SmallBeer Team

A couple of weeks ago, I had the pleasure of being the Master of Ceremonies [MC] for the 2024 Australian Organic Conference. Some might wonder how I found myself on a stage in Melbourne in front of key players of the Organics Industry. But it’s quite straightforward really, a) I was invited to do so, and b) I genuinely enjoy speaking and MC’ing at events like this. Australian Organic Limited first engaged businessDEPOT to help with their accounting and tax work, but I’ve thoroughly enjoyed working with their team on various other projects over the years, including: - Facilitating strategy workshops for different industry segments - Moderating conference panel discussions - Serving as the MC for conferences - Hosting industry awards nights - Conducting board strategy sessions - Assisting with strategic plan revisions I love helping people with these types of services and I’ve been relishing the opportunity to do more of it lately. I believe the most effective MC’s are those who can keep an event on course while maintaining high energy levels [without making it all about them]. While I’m neither a comedian nor an entertainer, I pride myself on being able to gauge the atmosphere of a room, connect with the audience by focusing on the key topics and themes, and bringing a business perspective, along with my personal insights to the conversation. Should you know someone in search of an #MC, a #panel moderator, or a #strategy session facilitator, I’d love to hear from you. Thanks Australian Organic Limited for the opportunity! #puttingitoutthere #oneplace

've always been curious about different cultures and traditions. For my university assignment, I delved into the world of beer and explored the diverse flavors from around the globe. From German lagers to Belgian ales, it was a tasty journey! Cheers to expanding our horizons! 🍻 #BeerAroundTheWorld #UniversityResearch"

Last autumn/spring, I was invited on Tim Wildman MW's final James Busby Travel trip, serendipitously coinciding with the announcement of 67 Pall Mall Melbourne! It was the experience of a lifetime, and I made an attempt to pass on a little of what I learned in our Members' newsletter. Thanks to Guy Woodward for the opportunity to proselytise. https://lnkd.in/gpzpGNZ5

Join us in a global toast! World Malbec Day 2024 - April 17, 2024 🇦🇷 🍷 www.malbecworldday.com The 14th edition of #MWD is here: MALBEC ARGENTINO - BETTER FOR THE WORLD Since 2011, we have celebrated Malbec World Day on April 17. In Argentina and across the industry it offers an opportunity to appreciate how Argentine Malbec has risen to become a global icon of Argentine viticulture. Thanks to the hard work of Argentine producers and winemakers, Malbec has evolved over the years and is now BETTER THAN EVER: Argentina is producing the best Malbecs in history. Now that Malbec’s consistency and quality of expression are well-proven, the industry has its sights set on the future and is WORKING TO MAKE A BETTER WORLD. Because one cannot enjoy the success of today without thinking about tomorrow. The challenge is to ensure that Malbec can maintain its characteristic elegance and versatility without sacrificing anything along the way. Argentine producers are increasingly mindful of the underlying experiences and changing values that influence how consumers choose their wine; decisions that go beyond Malbec to encompass concerns related to wellbeing, health and the environment. The world has changed. It is incumbent upon us to reconsider our existing values and structures and explore new ways of thinking and feeling. Argentine viticulture has firmly embraced the concept of sustainability: protecting and generating a positive impact on our environment, society and economy. Many Argentine wineries have made great strides in reducing their water footprints, adopting carbon neutral policies, improving their waste management and energy use, and reducing the weight of their bottles, all thanks to the success of Malbec. It is due to all these efforts that we are proud to say that Malbec Argentino is “BETTER FOR THE WORLD”, part of a focus on building a future in which the environment, society, culture and winemaking exist in balance and harmony. This is the path to follow if Argentine Malbec is going to continue to excel year on year and be the best that it can be.
Malbec Argentino, Better for the World!

The European Championship 2024 is about to begin – what better time to share fun facts about different cultures and countries than now? ⚽ Germany and Scotland play the opening match – let’s start there: Both countries have a rich and varied history and share beautiful landscapes and a love of soccer. Of course they also have their own distinct festivals and traditions: Germany 🇩🇪: Oktoberfest: the world's largest folk festival takes place in Munich. It attracts millions of visitors who want to experience German culture, beer and traditional Bavarian dress such as lederhosen and dirndls. 🎡👗 Beer culture: Germany has a strong beer tradition with over 1,300 breweries and more than 5,000 different types of beer. In 2023, the average beer consumption in Germany was around 91.6 liters per capita. 🍻 Sunday rest: In Germany, it is forbidden by law to mow the lawn or hang the washing on Sundays. So, if you need a really quiet day, move to Germany! 😴 Scotland 🏴: Highland Games: These traditional events include competitions such as log throwing, hammer throwing and rope pulling. They are an important part of Scottish culture and take place annually all over the country. 🔨 Whisky: Scotland is famous for its whisky. There are over 120 active distilleries and the whisky trails in regions such as Speyside are very popular with tourists. 🥃 Kilts in everyday life: It is not uncommon for Scottish men to wear their kilts on formal occasions. And yes, the question of what is worn underneath remains a well-kept secret (at least to the rest of the world)! 🤫 We’re curious which cultural differences will be visible during the championship – how do you think each country will represent themselves through their team? 🌎⚽ #globalmobility #hrconsulting #championship #germany #scotland #culturehackers #culture
