5 litres a day. 💧 Five litres is what many people living in water-short areas have no choice but to survive on. Five litres for drinking, cooking, cleaning and washing. Could you manage? Here in the UK, we use an average of 150 litres of water per person a day. In Australia, it’s approximately 500 litres, and in the US, it is a whopping 570 litres. That five-minute shower that we take for granted in the morning – that’s 40 litres of water alone! Brushing our teeth before we head off to work = 1 litre (and that’s if you remember to turn off the tap in between). It’s approximately 6 litres if you leave the tap running! It takes 6 litres to flush the toilet and another 3 litres to wash our hands afterwards! In the UK, we’re lucky enough to receive clean water with just the turn of a tap. The average walk to collect water in Africa is six kilometres, and most of the women and children doing this carry around 20 kg of water back home with them. Do you ever think about how much water you might use in a day? This World Water Week, we’re asking you to try the 5-litre challenge and see if you can use just five litres of water for all your daily activities. Let us know how you get on!

Don't let the unpredictable UK weather dampen your summer fun! Whether you're lucky enough to have a hot tub bubbling away or an outdoor pool tempting you in, here's how to keep them clean, safe, and ready for any surprise sunshine: Pool Care: 💦 Skim it Regularly: Even if you're not swimming, leaves and debris can quickly build up. Skim daily to keep your water clear. 💦 Check Chemicals: Rain can throw off your pool's chemistry. Test and adjust chlorine, pH, and alkalinity levels frequently. 💦 Clean the Filter: Backwash or clean your filter at least once a week to ensure optimal water flow and clarity. 💦 Shock After Heavy Rain: A quick shock treatment will help kill any bacteria or algae introduced by rainwater. Hot Tub TLC: 💦 Check the Cover: Make sure your hot tub cover fits snugly to retain heat and keep out rainwater. 💦 Clean the Filter: Hot tubs need clean filters too! Rinse or replace your filter cartridge as needed. 💦 Balance the Water: Test and adjust pH and sanitiser levels regularly to prevent cloudy water and bacterial growth. 💦 Drain and Refill: If you haven't used your hot tub in a while, consider draining and refilling it with fresh, balanced water. 💦 Bonus Tip: Invest in a floating thermometer to easily monitor your water temperature and make adjustments as needed. Let's make the most of our summer, rain or shine! ☀️😎 #poolmaintenance #hottubcare #watertreatment

Ever been told to drink more water? 🚰 Want to know a life changing tip about water consumption? 😅 Drink 4-5 large gulps of water every 30 minutes or so. This will help your cells hydrate properly. This will also help with the frequent bathroom trips. Dinking tons of water all at once usually leads to a faster trip to the restroom. Why? Because your body will release all the extra water it can't use in those large amounts of water consumption. Recap: drink smaller amounts of water more often versus all at once. 🚰 Try it and see if it makes a difference. 😆

Today is World Water Day, which got me thinking about how we relate with water... 🚿 Water bathes us, keeping us clean and healthy ☕ Water percolates our coffee, the solution of caffeine that starts many of our days 🍅 Water feeds our plants, which in turn feed us 🌅 Water glistens with a sunrise reflection, offering us a calm expanse for our own reflection 👃 Water trickles down my nose, in the crisp clear morning 🙎♂️ Water fills this body of mine, plumpening my movements 🧠 Water lubricates the very synapses of my consciousness We can consider water as a resource, part of the environment, a kin, or the majority shareholder of our bodies? These perspectives shape, and are shaped by our views and values. Is water something out there to be controlled or managed? Something in here, to be owned? Or is it everywhere, to simply flow with? This year's theme for World Water Day is "Water for Peace". For many this highlights the existential importance of international water-sharing agreements. In the relative tranquility of Aotearoa New Zealand we have the luxury of considering how water might help us find peace in the world around us, and the world within us. #water #worldwaterday

Try these simple daily actions: ➡️ Turn off the tap while soaping ➡️ Hang towels to dry instead of washing them after each use ➡️ Run the dishwasher at full load Do you have other suggestions for actions at home, work, or in your businesses? It’s pretty cold in Finland at the moment, even in south of Finland -20 degrees. Cold and refreshing water is not necessarily a first drink you think of. However, regardless of the weather is essential to ensure adequate hydration all year-round. The winter poses unique challenges to our hydration levels: The chilly air tends to be drier, and indoor heating further depletes moisture from the environment. This combination can lead to increased fluid loss from our bodies, even though we don’t might not feel thirsty. Spring water hydrates effectively and provides the essential fluid body needs to maintain proper hydration level. Kuohu Artesian Waters #springwater #premiumwater #artesianwater

The Language of Water: A Symphony for World Water Day On World Water Day, we pause to listen to the symphony of water, a language that transcends borders and speaks to the very core of our existence. Water is more than just a resource; it's the very essence of life, the cradle of civilization, the heartbeat of the planet. Yet, millions across the globe face the harsh silence of a dry well, a stark reminder of our precarious relationship with this precious gift. Water is essential for life, but it's a finite resource. Here are some easy-to-implement tips to conserve water in your daily routine: In the Bathroom: Shorter showers: Aim for 5-minute showers or install a low-flow showerhead to reduce water usage. Turn off the faucet: Don't let the water run while brushing your teeth or shaving. Fix leaky faucets and toilets: Even a small leak can waste gallons of water over time. Opt for a full load: Run washing machines and dishwashers only when they are full. In the Kitchen: Defrost food in the fridge: Avoid running water to thaw food. Wash fruits and vegetables in a basin: Don't rinse them under a running tap. Scrape dishes before washing: This removes excess food waste before using the dishwasher. Install an aerator faucet: This mixes air with water, creating a powerful stream while using less water. Around the House: Water your lawn and plants wisely: Water deeply but less frequently, early in the morning or evening to minimize evaporation. Fix leaky hoses and sprinklers: Check for leaks regularly and repair them promptly. Collect rainwater: Use a rain barrel to collect rainwater for watering plants. Take shorter baths: Consider a relaxing bath occasionally, but showers are generally more water-efficient. Together, let's create a future where the symphony of water continues to play its beautiful song for generations to come. #ClaimsMed #WorldWaterDay #TheLanguageOfWater #WaterIsLife #Conservation #SustainablePractices #ProtectOurPlanet #PreciousResource #ListenToTheSilence #CollectiveAction #WorldWaterCrisis
