Do ONE Good Thing 💧 The UK’s Leading Ethical Hydration Brand

About us

One is a life-changing brand. Every One funds clean water projects in areas that need it most. So far, with our partner The One Foundation, we have helped raise over £30 million and changed the lives of over 5 million people. One Water was launched back in 2005 with a simple vision: to sell bottled water in the UK to fund water projects across the world. The name One represents the idea that you can’t change a billion people’s lives, but if you can change just One that’s a definition of success. Choose One Water and join the fight to end water poverty.

You might not know it, but we were actually one of B Corp’s founding members (the 7th, in fact)! When B Corp started way back in 2015, we were one of a handful of brands to gain B Corp status alongside our friends Pukka Herbs and Ella's Kitchen. Since then, the B Corp name has skyrocketed, with over 2,000 brands in the UK alone, and we couldn’t be more proud to be a part of the B Corp community. As a purpose-led, planet-conscious brand, our values are based on using business as a force for good by putting people and the planet first. 🌍 B Corp Certification is the only certification that measures a company’s entire social and environmental performance. As well as funding sustainable clean water projects, we also focus on minimising our environmental impact. We consider sustainability from every perspective – from our packaging to the supply chain and the projects we fund. In 2021, we were re-certified in the top 5% globally, with an overall score of 105.3 vs the median score of 50.9. We were also recognised as a ‘Best for the World’ B Corp in the Impact Area of ‘Community’, collectively leading the global movement for an inclusive, equitable and regenerative economy. What does B Corp mean to you? Is it something you seek out? Does it drive your shopping habits? Let us know in the comments! B Lab UK B Lab #BCorpFestivalUK

5 litres a day. 💧 Five litres is what many people living in water-short areas have no choice but to survive on. Five litres for drinking, cooking, cleaning and washing. Could you manage? Here in the UK, we use an average of 150 litres of water per person a day. In Australia, it’s approximately 500 litres, and in the US, it is a whopping 570 litres. That five-minute shower that we take for granted in the morning – that’s 40 litres of water alone! Brushing our teeth before we head off to work = 1 litre (and that’s if you remember to turn off the tap in between). It’s approximately 6 litres if you leave the tap running! It takes 6 litres to flush the toilet and another 3 litres to wash our hands afterwards! In the UK, we’re lucky enough to receive clean water with just the turn of a tap. The average walk to collect water in Africa is six kilometres, and most of the women and children doing this carry around 20 kg of water back home with them. Do you ever think about how much water you might use in a day? This World Water Week, we’re asking you to try the 5-litre challenge and see if you can use just five litres of water for all your daily activities. Let us know how you get on!
