At TORM, we are always delivering. 💪 We provide customers with an automated report of the CO2 emissions for their voyage. Why? Emissions in these reports are categorized within TORM’s Scope 1 because these are direct emissions from our operations. For our spot customers, TORM’s Scope 1 emissions constitute part of their Scope 3 reporting. Scope 3 reporting covers emissions that are a consequence of a company’s activities but not owned or controlled/operated by that company. 🚢 Reporting our Scope 1 emissions means enabling reporting in Scope 3 for others. In 2023, TORM provided customers with automated CO2 emissions reports on more than 500 voyages.  #sustainability #OneTORM #Scope3

After having attended the #NOWCon24 in January and #NASCC24 last week, we're very excited about the trends we're seeing in the steel fabrication industry for west coast growth. There's a lot of interest in Thompson Metal Fab, Inc. (TMF) becoming more connected in that network right now. The more you're around people, you can't help but get to know them more. You start developing relationships and a common thread. You can see the room starting to diversify and see new people coming into the space, but people you continue to see are starting to recognize you. It's nice to be recognized and build familiarity with people in those spaces. It was great. The conversation regarding west coast developments is starting to progress. There's still some wait-and-see cautious optimism happening, but people are also recognizing that we really gotta move on this stuff! If we are wanting to get these utilities online in the 2030 decade, we have to start moving now, teaming up, partnering, truly engaging the supply chain to build momentum. What is the meaning of “Energy Transition”? Is it an engineered reduction in global demand for oil & gas / fossil fuel energy resources? Is not a transition inevitable & necessary because it does not make sense for 8 billion humans in an advanced industrial civilization to depend on a finite and depleting resource for long term survival? Large scale capture of CO2 via huge amine plants, followed by compression of this gas to supercrital conditions and transport in large diameter corrosion-resistant steel pipelines for injection into suitable underground storage formations, will never happen. This is a prophecy. The required capital-intensive plant & equipment represents $multi-billion sunk cost with no return for the investor & no practical benefit for humanity. Further, with no impact on the climate one way or another. The Egyptians under their religious leadership could mobilize the nation to build massive pyramids that had no practical use as far as survival goes. And so it is for the construction of huge CO2 capture & storage facilities. They will be monuments to appease the gods of climate change but will serve no practical purpose apart from stimulating the steel manufacturing and construction industries
