Things I've noticed already this spring: 1) Clients are always behind the curve. They take action to marketing and seasonal changes far slower than we expect them to. Having the flexibility to adapt capacity is important. 2) Stick to your word, but have the writing to back it up. We had an instance that reminded me good faith agreements do still exist, but wet ink has to be the standard. Create a process and stick to it. 3) People almost always act rationally. Most outcomes are completely rational, communicate & operate as such and many problems will solve themselves. Our team operates frequently from checklists instead of bulleted lists - this helps us create a systematic, repeatable work flow to ensure we are dotting i's and crossing t's. 𝗚𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 ’𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗱, 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗼𝗸𝘆 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗴𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗱𝗼𝗰𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻… There was once a thriving organization with a reliable, loyal library of documentation that served its team well—it answered their questions with up-to-date information, helped them avoid errors, and kept them working efficiently. But over time, the documentation was abandoned. It gathered cobwebs and a fine layer of dust. No one bothered to look after it, so it slowly withered away and became a ghostly, tortured shadow of its former self. In its tragic frustration, the documentation led its once-beloved team astray, haunting them at every turn with inconsistencies, sluggish processes, and miscommunications.
