We would like to thank the team of Jason Goertzen, David Joseph and Peter Thomassen for their research and PowerDNS guest post on the PowerDNS Blog. In 2022 , Peter, together with Matthieu Grillere and Nils Wisiol, tested and evaluated PowerDNS as the basis for an implementation of post-quantum DNSSEC signing with the FALCON-512 algorithm. Now, two years on, it is time for a follow-up post to evaluate how quantum-resistant signature algorithms perform in real world DNS. Funded by NLnet Foundation, and supported by SSE, this project revealed some very interesting results - find our more in our PowerDNS blog: https://lnkd.in/e9eRVEEh #PowerDNS #DNSSEC #FALCON512

Today I presented our paper "Continuous Certification of Non-Functional Properties Across System Changes" at the 21st International Conference on Service-Oriented Computing #icsoc2023 Continuous certification is paramount to support stable non-functional behavior of modern distributed systems deployed at the edge-cloud continuum. Our continuous certification scheme is built on ML-based modeling of the system behavior and ensures certificate validity across system changes. It provides fine-grained planning of adaptive actions and reduces unnecessary re-certification while minimizing the need of full re-certification. The paper has been supported by NRRP - Next Generation Europe Project MUSA MUSA scarl and NRRP - Next Generation Europe Project SERICS. Marco Anisetti Nicola Bena Ernesto Damiani

🔥 Convolutional KANs: An alternative to CNNs 🔥 Building on the innovative Kolmogorov-Arnold Networks (KANs), I'm excited to announce our latest development: Convolutional Kolmogorov-Arnold Networks (Convolutional-KANs), in collaboration with Jack Spolski, Antonio Tepsich, Alexander Bodner! This advancement integrates learnable non-linear activation functions into Computer Vision by replacing traditional convolutions with Kan-Convolutions. Each element of the kernel is a learnable activation function modeled using B-Splines! Our preliminary results are promising. Convolutional-KANs achieve only a 0.04 reduction in accuracy compared to conventional 2-layer CNNs, but with nearly half the parameters, and 7 times fewer parameters than a 4-layer CNN. 🚀. We welcome contributions and constructive feedback to refine and enhance our implementation. Explore the GitHub repository! 🔗 https://lnkd.in/dxZT6ef4"

On a mission to democratize computing in space. Currently focused on building high performance compute systems for small satellites. Hardware engineer with 20+ years experience.
"The processor on Ingenuity is 100 times more powerful than everything JPL has sent into deep space, combined," Teddy Tzanetos, Ingenuity team lead This is why we need a new paradigm for computing in space. The reason we founded Zephyr Computing Systems is to bring this evolutionary capability to the industry. Below is a representation of Ingenuity's visual odometry algorithm, which is simply not possible with the current state of the art in space computing.

Big congrats to my PhD students Yunming Xiao, Sen Lin, and Yibo Zhao (Boston U.), for winning the Best Student Paper Award at EuroSys'24! The paper proposes "Snatch," the first system to enable online streaming analytics at the network edge, either at an edge ISP or an edge CDN server. The key mechanism proposed is semantic cookie, which directly contains user features (data). This is contrary to "classical" web cookies, which hold index to the data. This "tiny" change "turns the world upside down," and enables many good things to happen. More details in the video below. We're grateful to the National Science Foundation (NSF), and our manager Deep Medhi, for funding this research. https://lnkd.in/gAf6-xGt
