Kudos to the US group @mydensitymatters for hosting their 4th #FindOutMyDensityDay Thank you for putting together this day for our voices to come together to inform women worldwide about the implications of breast density. This information can potentially be life saving. Here in Canada, we now have 8 provinces/territories telling women their breast density in the mammogram results letter mailed to them (BC, AB, MB, ON, NB, PEI, NS, YT). Please read the letter to learn if you have dense breasts or not. Two more provinces (SK and QC) have placed the information online in the patient portal. Please check it out. In NL and NWT, the information is only available to women with Category D density. Advocacy continues there. When we first began Dense Breasts Canada, no one was being told their breast density. Now, the majority of women having a screening mammogram can find out their density, but it's also important to know what to do with the information. For more information on how to find out your density or steps you can take if you have dense breasts, please check out your province on our Get Informed page https://lnkd.in/giQUxx8p

I feel that my thesis still has gaps for other health researchers to explore. Interested health researchers can check it out through the link below. 👇🏿👇🏿👇🏿 ABSTRACT The study highlights a concerning decline in expectant women seeking antenatal care (ANC) after 20 weeks, a critical period for ensuring safe deliveries. In Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital, ANC attendance within the first 10 weeks increased from 24% in 2015 to 42% in 2021, but 20-week check-up attendance dropped from 11% to 8%. The research explores predictors of late ANC attendance among women aged 15-49, using secondary data from the Kenya District Health Information System. Key findings indicate 76% of women attend ANC late, with 73% living within 5 km of a health facility. Factors like age, education, employment, and awareness influence timely attendance, suggesting a need for increased awareness, empowerment, and public-private partnerships to promote prompt ANC adherence.

🌸 September is PCOS Awareness Month 🌸 At Banet, we stand with millions of women worldwide who are navigating the challenges of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). This condition affects 8 to 13% of reproductive age women, yet it remains underdiagnosed and misunderstood. Throughout this month, but also all year long, we’re dedicated to raising awareness about PCOS. What have we achieved so far? 🔹 Educational Campaigns: We’ve launched informative webinars and social media campaigns that reached hundreds of women, providing them with essential knowledge about PCOS symptoms, diagnosis, and management. 🔹 Community Support: Our online community has grown stronger, offering a safe space for women to share their experiences, seek advice, and support one another. 🔹 Collaborations with healthcare professionals : We've partnered with specialist doctors to offer women tailored advice and resources on a variety of PCOS topics , such as Dr Taieb Ach who has covered PCOS from pathophysiology to treatment, and Dr Wafa Jouini who has tackled adult acne . But our work doesn’t stop here. PCOS is a lifelong condition that requires continuous support and attention. We’re committed to support women with PCOS and empower them with the knowledge they need to take control of their health. Let’s continue the conversation about PCOS, not just this month, but every day. Together, we can make a difference. 💪💜 #womenshealth #PCOS

As we approach Mother’s Day, I find myself reflecting on the incredible women who have shaped my life. As women, we wear different hats and play significant roles – from mothers to daughters, sisters, and wives. These are our roles in relation to others, but what about our role to ourselves? The 2024 Roche Diagnostics APAC National Women's Health Survey shows that over 2 in 5 of the women in APAC have put off seeking healthcare due to familial responsibilities. While preventable if detected early, the number of cervical cancer cases continues to grow unabated, with more than half of the world’s cervical cancer burden in Asia. Yet, nearly 40% of women do not get tested for cervical cancer on a regular basis. The numbers reveal a pressing need to empower women to prioritise their well-being. That's why I'm happy to share that in honour of Mother’s Day, five countries and areas in the Roche Diagnostics APAC region are partnering with various organisations to provide free and accessible cervical screenings. Through this initiative, Roche Diagnostics Asia Pacific aims to encourage women to take charge of their health and promote a culture of self-care among women. Let's celebrate Mother’s Day by making the most important date. Make time this week to get tested and join us in the journey towards healthier, happier lives. #MothersDay #CervicalHealth #GiftOfHealth #TogetherForChange #EveryWoman #MakeTheMostImportantDate #EmpowerHerHealth #WomensCheckupWeek
