📢 DEADLINE for letters of intent: March 7 📢 https://lnkd.in/gAGGb3-N The “Facilities Integrating Collaborations for User Science” (FICUS) call between the JGI and the Environmental Molecular Sciences Laboratory (EMSL) is a unique opportunity for researchers to combine the power of genomics and molecular characterization in one proposed research project. Successful applications will focus on high risk/high payoff projects in the focused topic areas that can be completed on an accelerated timeline. In addition, they must utilize a broad range of the capabilities of each facility, and generate datasets beyond what each of these facilities could generate by itself. Great News🎉Researchers from the Groningen Biomolecular Sciences and Biotechnology Institute are partners in a research team that will receive a 40 million euros NWO Summit grant for research at the interface of chemistry and biology. The multidiciplinary team, led by Delft University of Technology, will investigate whether it is possible to make living cells from lifeless molecules. In doing so, they will use laboratory evolution and artificial intelligence to engineer complex systems for the first time. From the RUG, Prof. Bert Poolman is responsible for one of the five work programs. For its implementation, the RUG will receive approximately 4 million euros for the first five years. Successfully defended my PhD titled “characterization and Source Apportionment of Urban air pollutants” on 11th March 2024. Here I characterised volatile organic compounds in urban areas with a focus on emerging contaminants using binPMF and studied interactions between biogenic and anthropogenic VOCs. During my research I used several high resolution mass spectrometers such as Vocus PTR-Tof, Fast Polarity Switching Tof (Vocus-B) and CI-Orbitrap.

🇦🇹➡️🇩🇪 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭: 𝐃𝐂7 – 𝐋𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚 𝐆𝐚𝐥 – 𝐭𝐨 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐆ö𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐧, 𝐆𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐲 The rubber has hit the road! ✨ At the beginning of May, I moved from University of Graz to The University of Göttingen, where I will continue my research for the next four months as part of my first #secondment. Alongside Suresh Rohan (DC6) and under the guidance of Prof. Kai Tittmann, we will focus on crystallizing and investigating the mechanism of new CC bond forming #enzymes. 🌟🔬 Being in Göttingen, a hub of scientific innovation, provides an enriching environment to improve my skills and gain new insights. This opportunity allows me to collaborate with experts in the field and contribute to research that bridges #biocatalysis and #structuralBiology. - Lilla Gal #Collaboration #UGOE #EnzymeCrystallization #BiodeCCodiNNg #MSCA #HorizonEU
