Amidst global energy challenges and the drive for a sustainable and prosperous future, we are happy to present our White Paper outlining key actions for the next EU Commission (2024-2029). The document emphasises the urgent need for Europe to foster clean and green industries and reduce its reliance on fossil fuels. This week's Energy UK Conference provided some insight into what Energy Secretary Ed Miliband may reflect on in his speech at the upcoming Labour Party Conference. We welcome the leadership shown in presenting solutions to a cleaner, fairer and affordable energy transition that will see the UK become a global leader when delivering clean power by 2030. This EPRI Current episode resonated with me. It tackled a critical topic for the clean energy transition: regional collaboration. Host Bill Florence led a compelling discussion on why researchers, policymakers, and energy companies need to work together. By addressing the unique challenges faced by each region, we can accelerate progress towards a clean energy future. The episode featured a particularly insightful case study from EPRI in Europe. They're tackling the complexities of Europe's clean energy landscape through strategic collaborations with ENTSO-E and other key stakeholders. Last Tuesday, #GEODE Policy Advisor, Federica BRUNI, and Technical Advisor, Anna Smičková, attended the European Energy Forum Dinner Discussion with the European Commission Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič in Strasbourg.   It was a valuable opportunity to reflect on the closing European Parliament term and to understand the Commission main priorities for the next mandate: 📌 The implementation of EU legislation with a minimization of bureaucratic burdens for the industry, 📌 The enhancement of EU’s energy autonomy by putting efforts in lowering prices for the consumers, 📌 The strengthening and improvement of energy infrastructure, 📌 A focus on EU’s competitiveness at the global level with particular attention on domestic value chains, 📌 The creation of an EU single market of clean technologies.   Thanks to the European Energy Forum for inviting us to this event and looking forward to further enriching discussions!   GEODE - The voice of local energy distributors across Europe #EnergyPolicy #Infrastructure #Grids #PolicyPriorities
