The system is broken. The traditional methods once used by pretty much all candidates to find a job, today offer little to no value at all. In the past 20 years, there has been almost no step forward in the way candidates can approach their job search. Yes there have been new platforms introduced that are slightly shinier and slicker than the one before, but essentially there have been no fundamental changes to the methodology of finding a job. Until now. So why does the system that was once a fool proof way of finding a job now fail almost all candidates? Let's take a look below. 🔥 𝗙𝗜𝗘𝗥𝗖𝗘 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗣𝗘𝗧𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 🔥 The competition for anything today is hotter than ever and the job market is no different. If you live in a "hub market" like Dubai, Riyadh, Jeddah, Cairo or Istanbul, the good news is that there are thousands of incredible companies across all sectors, all hiring the best talent. The bad news is that within all these incredible companies are also incredibly talented employees all wanting the same job as you. 🔭 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗛𝗜𝗗𝗗𝗘𝗡 𝗝𝗢𝗕 𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗞𝗘𝗧 🔭 Conservative estimates put the hidden job market at around 65-70%, however if you’re a manager, director or business leader, this then jumps to over 80%, more likely being closer to 90%. So if we are saying 8 or 9 out of 10 jobs are not being advertised on any platform, you need to ask yourself the question. “How do I find a job that I don’t even know exists”. The huge likelihood is your next move will be in a role that is not on LinkedIn, so do you have a strategy to tap in to that market? ⛔️ 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗥𝗨𝗜𝗧𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗣𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗘𝗦 𝗗𝗢𝗡'𝗧 𝗛𝗘𝗟𝗣 ⛔️ Over the past few years, we have seen a very intentional shift from companies all shapes and sizes moving away from the traditional outsourced approach when it comes to recruitment, and many are now adopting an "in house" strategy with internal Talent Acquisition Teams now running the show when it comes to attracting candidates. The argument around who is better placed to do this for companies is debatable, however, one thing is for absolute certain. Talent Acquisition Teams have taken away candidates representation. It's that simple. Candidates no longer have representation from recruitment firms to companies in anywhere near the same level as before, essentially meaning if you are looking for a job within a mid-size or multinational company, you guessed it....
