Around the globe, more and more women are taking their careers in their own hands by launching a business. Women represent one of the fastest growing segments of the entrepreneurship population worldwide. Yet, despite women entrepreneurs’ progress, they still face roadblocks along the way that limit their business’s growth. As a result, women often experience difficulties in obtaining funding from banks, private investors, and even from family and friends. In an effort to support women entrepreneurs, EIX.org and familybusiness.org offer articles that explore these challenges with research-based best practices and advice to bolster their success. "Women entrepreneurs are often role models to other women in their families, networks and communities. They therefore provide a fantastic route for knowledge-sharing." When women entrepreneurs gain knowledge, they pass it on. Their friends, clients, employees and fellow business owners benefit as a result – better equipped to navigate their own work and lives, and run successful businesses of their own. In fact, two thirds of the women who take our training and mentoring programmes pass their newfound knowledge on to other women entrepreneurs. The ripple effect of knowledge gained from mentoring. Yes, of course. As stated in the article "Educate a Woman, Educate a Nation." It's amazing to see that 96% of women are ready to share the knowledge gained from their trainings and 75% already shared their knowledge and skills with others in their organisation or community. #mentoring #womeninbusiness #womenentrepreneurs #businessadvising #businessgrowth

All too often, women entrepreneurs just don't get the recognition they deserve for the enormous impact they have on others around them. I'm always astonished by what we term 'the ripple effect' - how, when one woman entrepreneur is empowered, she goes on to positively impact 10, 100, even thousands of other people. Women passing on knowledge is one of the best examples of this, and yet it's often unrecognised as it's not as tangible as, say, jobs creation. But what we see time and again at Cherie Blair Foundation for Women is that, while our training programmes might support 100 individual women, that knowledge actually reaches so many more lives, crossing generations and weaving into the fabric of communities. The women we've worked with put it best: Ivonne ocrospoma told us that "It’s important that I not just retain the information, but that I also share it". Natachi Peace Ugbajah shared that "For my community, I can have a positive impact on numerous women by passing on what I have learned". Felicia Ohikere reflected that "I have seen myself continually teach other women what I have learned". And the phenomenal Sola Adesakin CPA, FCA, FCCA, MBA, CFEI shared that "Being a community leader and a leader of women, I wasn’t the only beneficiary of [the programme's] learning points, I went back to teach my community, and we have all become better for it". It was a pleasure to write this piece, bringing some of the huge contributions of the women we work with huge to light, and hopefully making the case for why investing in women entrepreneurs' knowledge means investing in entire societies. #KnowledgeIsPower #BusinessWoman #EntrepreneurTips
