#Primaryhealthcare is the most inclusive, equitable and cost-effective way to achieve #universalhealthcoverage. Today, at the World Health Innovation Forum in Vizag, India, panelists from the World Health Organization, WISH FOUNDATION INDIA, The George Institute for Global Health, and OKB Hope Foundation discussed the importance of strengthening primary health care systems, the need to drive #innovation to address long-standing roadblocks and how these innovations can be sustainably scaled. As the world's biggest causes of death and disability, equitable innovations are urgently need to address #noncommunicablediseases and ensure NCD services are integrated in primary health care. In today’s world, the wellbeing and living a healthy life is largely falls outside the healthcare facilities and hospitals. The celebration of life, happiness and prosperity are at home and their living places. But, traditionally Investment from government and private sector goes disproportionately to infrastructure building and curative healthcare. In current narrative of health and nutrition the role of family, care-givers, social connects and nature are missing. But in live situation they play most important role in making life healthy, happy and prosperous.  With the shifting of demography, increased impact of climate change on human health and changing of social structure, the future of healthcare eco-system needs to be reimagined and redesigned recognising that ‘We all are care-receivers; We all are Care-givers’.    André Nogueira

#WorldHealthDay has just passed. In our recent discussion with Mr. Syed Mohd Abbas, Senior Program Associate, India Health Policy and Systems Research Fellowship Program, Health Systems Transformation Platform about challenges in public health, he emphasized the disparity between vision and execution in initiatives like Ayushman Bharat's primary healthcare model. While the aim is noble – providing comprehensive services at the grassroots level – the gap between vision and execution remains glaring.    Mr. Syed highlighted a critical issue: the success of these services hinges on the preparedness and capacity of states, districts, and blocks. Without adequate infrastructure, resources, and expertise at every administrative unit, the lofty goals of Ayushman Bharat may be a far cry from reality.   He concluded by saying not to overlook the elephant in the room; effective coordination and monitoring are non-negotiable. Without them, the promise of affordable, and equitable healthcare reaching every section of the community remains unfulfilled. It's time for a reality check and concrete action to bridge this implementation gap.
