📌 This week, in Naples, at the ENAV premises, the GALAAD project conducted a dynamic workshop, marking the commencement of the #HumanPerformance (HP) and #Safety (SAF) Change Assessment Process. ➡ Let's delve into what's laid out on the table: - Examining the goals of the change: What benefits will it bring to the aviation sector, and who will it impact? - Understanding the scope and boundaries of the system undergoing change: What functions are planned, and how will they operate in real-world scenarios? - Evaluating potential safety and HP impacts: What risks and benefits are associated with the proposed changes? - Creating a robust strategy for demonstrating safety. - Investigating initial HP effects: How might the changes influence the performance and well-being of aviation personnel? 🔎 This workshop gathered key stakeholders from the GALAAD consortium, fostering collaboration to initiate this crucial assessment process. Leading the discussion were esteemed experts from Deep Blue, Aurora Giovanna Simonetti and Leonie Stieren, and from NAIS Sonia Pastore Carbone. 🌪 Stay tuned for further updates and insights from the project!

Deploying trajectory based operations technologies in Europe can only bring benefits if a global ICAO mandate exists ; non European carriers fly in the European airspace : airlines will only get benefits if the avionics of all airspace users are contributing to the setting up of a single trajectory definition. A very useful symposium where FAA ,Canada , Japan, Singapore ,… and the military community contributed to enrich the roadmap proposed for the European region

🚨 Here's an Update to Our "How to Pass Wizzair Pilot Selections" Course! Just like LCIA, Wizzair has recently just published their FY24 results, covering the financial year ending March 31, 2024. We’ve already uploaded the original reports and we added a special video commentary from Guillaume to our Wizzair course. For the first time since COVID, Wizzair posted a profit! However, they face significant challenges, including massive debt and ongoing PW engine issues. Understanding these challenges is so important for pilots, as they translate directly into the company's pilot experiences and interview discussions. Arrive at your Wizzair interview knowledgeable and prepared. Trying to highlight your awareness of the airline’s situation can make you stand out as a well-rounded, informed candidate so try to focus on the positives and show your eagerness on how you could contribute to Wizzair's improvement as their future pilot. Thanks to all of the organizing partners for an amazing 3-days of discussion, points of view, commentary and progress updates on the latest Trajectory-Based Operations (TBO) activities provided by our colleagues, friends and partners at the inaugural Global TBO Symposium held at EUROCONTROL HG this week. And what a great congress it was!!! Presentations from all around the world on TBO strategy, the need for a global solution that can also be sufficiently adaptable to cater for local needs and the desire of all the stakeholders to deliver these solutions as rapidly as possible was there to behold. It was so pleasing for our team to see how our early TBO research which we performed with our FAA partners in the early 2000’s is now starting to deliver promising solutions. Moreover, the willingness of partners from across the globe to push forward with TBO initiatives, which are fully supported by regulators, standards authorities and ATM/Aviation leaders across  the planet was there to behold. Benefits ranging from efficiency, predictability, capacity increase resulting in less delays and not least a pathway to environmental gains in line with aviation net-zero goals are clear to see - if we can all share the best and most up to date trajectory information to support our joint decision-making processes. So, let’s move forward and get this show on the road for the benefit of us all. Key ‘takeaways’ from the symposium? We need to (continue to) work on global, collaborative solutions that avoid any regional divergence while permitting local differences which may be required. Transition to cloud-based and data-sharing solutions requires sufficient capacity and appropriate security for (both) the protected (and more open) spectrum(s). The increasingly difficult geo-political situation will require us to find solutions that are attainable within budget constraints, so lets not invent ‘yet another’ throw away or single-use solution, and… …lets continue to work together and collaborate to find a truly global solution to render TBO and all its associated benefits available to the entire community. Star of the show? Without a doubt the amazing work done by our colleagues at the FAA, with Boeing, Nav Canada, JACB Japan, CAAS Singapore and AeroThai in Thailand on the multi-region TBO validation activities. First ever flight operating TBO and using the Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) connected ‘bi-directionally’ to the FMS and other onboard equipment using an Aircraft Interface Device (AID) and transmitting full aircraft trajectory data (and other information) every minute using the existing intelsat satellite-based communications network – simply awesome! #TBO #EASA #EUROCONTROL #SESAR #ISA – Innovation for Sustainable Aviation.
