Happy Pride Month! 🌈 As we celebrate Pride Month, it's important to bring awareness to the challenges faced by the LGBTQIA+ community. Many individuals find themselves in situations and workplaces where they aren't sure if they will be welcomed, accepted, or even safe. This month serves as a reminder that our support and advocacy should extend beyond these 30 days and be part of our everyday lives. I love seeing the rainbow logos everywhere - it brings me hope. But Pride Month isn't just about one month of recognition. It’s about showing continuous support and being active allies. It's about fostering an environment where everyone, regardless of their identity, feels safe and valued. It's essential to amplify voices across the LGBTQIA+ spectrum and work towards a future where everyone can live authentically without fear. This Pride Month, we’re celebrating the LGBTQIA2+ community and reaffirming our commitment to our core value: respect for all. While Pride Month is a time for celebration, it is also an opportunity to reflect on the ongoing challenges faced by the LGBTQIA2+ community. Despite significant progress, many individuals still encounter discrimination, violence, and legal inequalities. In many parts of the world, LGBTQIA2+ people continue to fight for basic human rights and acceptance. Advocacy is a crucial component of Pride Month. As we have officially ended June, it is important to acknowledge that Pride is each and every day. 🌈 Our LGBTQIA+ community is truly an intersectional community. It is filled with all races, ethnicities, disabilities, neurodiversity, faiths, and so much more. As a result of all of these intersections, there are massive impacts on what is currently happening politically in our country. We cannot ignore or separate these intersections, making the advocacy for ALL. 🌈 We all need to be making Pride a part of our every day experience. It may feel hard to figure out how to do this...there are so many of us out there that can help! ➡ Have your Safe Space, Rainbow, or Ally stickers out all year ➡ Follow all of the impacts on the community throughout the year ➡ Take steps of action - voting, writing your legislators, hosting supports, and so much more - throughout the year ➡ Ally's, remember that the LGBTQIA+ community can't stop thinking about these things or creating safety around them...to be a true ally, that is an important part for you to do as well. ➡ Address phobic rhetoric, statements, phobic organizations, and organizations that are performative allyship. 🌈 We CAN make change. We CAN stop these harmful experiences.
