For us to achieve equity in the “development sector”, a radical reform of the funding value chain is required
We are excited to share the launch of our three-part series on the strategic edge that women’s funds play in resourcing women’s rights and LBTQI+ organizations all across the globe. The Government of Canada's $150M Women’s Voice and Leadership (WVL) program has made breakthrough achievements since it began in 2017, with local women’s rights organizations successfully influencing over 100 policies, laws, and frameworks in 2022 alone. With WVL 2.0 planning now underway to shape its historic next chapter, our timely series showcases examples from three high-impact organizations on the frontlines of change. Interesting read. Perhaps in 2025 it's time to move away from the empty coordinated hashtag and work with our orgs to come up with our own themes that are meaningful, action-based and specific to our people and strategic DEI goals. https://lnkd.in/gRZ_YhrG

We're honored to have Lyzzette B., our General Counsel, and Haley Everheart, our VP of Marketing, speak at The Conference Board Diversity Equity and Inclusion conference next week with leaders from Georgia Equality. This legislative session, Georgia, like many states, is undergoing a surge in anti-LGBTQ+ bills, which makes our work there ever more critical. If you'll be in attendance, we'd love to connect to disuss how we can work together to make our organizations more supportive of LGBTQ+ people during this time. About our panel, "Gender Inclusivity: Beyond the Binary" The increase of transgender and nonbinary individuals in the workforce means our organizations must adapt. This panel session will discuss the importance of including and supporting transgender and nonbinary individuals in our organizations and communities, beginning by defining terms such as transgender and nonbinary, and exploring the ways in which these identities intersect with other marginalized identities, such as race and class. Crucially, it will discuss strategies for promoting gender inclusivity in the workplace and beyond, including best practices for creating inclusive policies and environments, as well as how to support and advocate for transgender and nonbinary colleagues and community members. https://lnkd.in/dWZsEhK
