Today marks the end of worldwide Wellbeing Week. In our experience, people are more productive in the workplace when they are happy in themselves and their working environment. There are a number of key factors to consider when designing an office space that promotes wellbeing. Here's some tips we think are important: 1.) Connection to Natural elements. Studies show that employees working in environments with natural features have 15% higher wellness levels than those who do not. Plants help clean the air, reduce stress levels, boost creativity, and increase productivity. 2.) Natural lighting is key. Sunlight is good for the soul. Our body needs Vitamin D from sunlight to release endorphins and serotonin – the chemicals that boost our mood and give us energy. 3.) Everybody is different - and this means everyone has preferred working styles. Incorporate areas for private working, relaxation and socialisation as well as traditional working spaces. An investment into your workspace is also an investment into its people. 4.) Impact of Colours: Colours significantly affect emotions and can influence how you feel in a space. Warm colours can evoke emotions such as happiness, anger, or love, while cooler colours like green, blue, or purple promote a sense of calm. Light neutral colours can create a peaceful atmosphere and make a room feel more spacious, which is beneficial for smaller spaces. Great job at Taylor Emmett, totally transformed the building.
Totally agree about those aspects when designing offices to promote wellbeing.👌🏽 Ergonomics is another critical factor in promoting employee wellbeing in office design. Proper ergonomic design ensures that the work environment supports the physical health and comfort of employees, reducing the risk of musculoskeletal disorders and enhancing overall productivity.

9moAs a long standing, traditional law firm, this was a massive change for us, but the results have been amazing. Not only do we have an office that we are extremely proud of, but our staff and clients love it. Big thanks to OVO Spaces especially Lee and Goose for what we have achieved, I can't wait to do another project with you!
