🌏 The increasing severity of climate disasters in Asia highlights the urgent need for more aid workers. In 2023, Asia faced 79 major hydro-meteorological events, impacting 9 million people and resulting in over 2,000 fatalities. Extreme heat further complicates the situation, often going unreported. On #WorldHumanitarianDay, we emphasize the importance of inclusivity, local engagement and perseverance in our response efforts. These approaches are essential for effectively addressing the complex and evolving challenges posed by climate change. 🌟

According to the 2018 World Bank's Groundswell Report, climate change could create over 143 million "climate migrants" in countries within Sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia, and Latin America by 2050. This highlights how rising seas, extreme weather, and changing rainfall patterns could force millions to leave their homes. Now, this is going to increase pressure on urban areas as well as the potential for social tensions and conflicts. Thus, an urgent need for climate adaptation strategies.
