Greetings from the Association of Test Publishers “Innovations in Testing” conference in Anaheim- where nexus between the world of work, education and measurement is gathering momentum. This is my first time attending and I am glad I did. The content is heavily towards education and credentialing. I do share the common bond with the myriad psychometricians that are here. Initially I wondered, How relevant it is to my focus on the world of work?" After an amazing opening talk by Sae Schatz founder of The Knowledge Forge , attending a ton of sessions on LLMs in the world of psychometric measurement and learning, discussing the future of AI in human measurement with some really smart people, and a healthy does of reflection and processing- I can say this conference has been time well spent! Here's the kicker, I was able to have an epiphany that will have a long lasting impact thanks to Sae’s keynote address.  I have not read her book “Engines of Engagement, a curious book about generative AI “ yet, but I got a good preview from her talk. It is important for me to share her message because it is now becoming part of my message, as it should everyone’s who is in the world of people, learning, and work. Here are a few high level take aways from the talk: -The future of humans in the workforce is much bigger than HR and people departments.  -Technology is going to radically reshape our life and career journeys by providing the ability to support continuous learning and measurement with feedback loops that will serve as a source of truth and guidance for both individuals and employers. -The boundaries between education, training, testing, careers, and job performance are going to blur into one 60 year long journey that supports and nurtures all of our unique abilities and the knowledge and experience we gain along the way. -I am most excited about the rise of multi-modal, experiential and transparent assessments that will go beyond our digital exhaust, becoming our digital lighthouses. While I have talked about alot of these things over the years, we are at a place where the  technology needed to bind them together is a reality. I challenge all of us who work within the HR and talent acquisition realm to start thinking more broadly about technology, people, data, learning, measurement and work/life skills.  We are about to put it all into the blender to make a powerful elixir! #skillsforlife #lifelonglearning

Where NOT to spend your time building your EB1 profile. Student activities. What do I mean? • Presenting to students • Judging students • Hackathoning against students • Receiving awards for students For EB1 you need to show you are at the very top of your entire field. This means that you stand out compared to even some of the most veteran experts in your field. Not just compared to other students. So if your evidence mostly shows that you stand out compared to other students, this isn't helpful for EB1. USCIS is highly skeptical of this kind of evidence for EB1. It's not enough. However, if you are just starting to build your profile (as a student) it won't hurt to seek out these activities as stepping stones to other recognition in the field. But just know that these activities will not be enough/won't be great evidence to submit for your EB1.  Industry recognition that you gain AFTER this student work will be much better evidence.

The establishment of the U.K. chapter of CLEP is an important step towards providing a natural focal point for engineering logistics and those involved in its delivery.
