🌍🦟 Today is World Malaria Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness about the preventive measures we can take to combat this deadly disease. The theme for World Malaria Day 2024 is "Accelerating the fight against malaria for a more equitable world". This theme emphasizes the need to address the stark inequalities in access to malaria prevention, detection, and treatment services, particularly for vulnerable populations such as pregnant women and children. Malaria is a disease caused by a parasite transmitted through the bite of an infected mosquito. Symptoms include shaking chills, high fever, and flu-like illness. It is preventable with proper precautions, such as removing stagnant water from containers, clearing litter, and spraying insecticides regularly around your home. World Malaria Day is an opportunity for international partners, foundations, and companies to show their efforts in eradicating this disease and contributing to a better healthcare structure. Let's unite in the fight against malaria and work towards a more equitable world where everyone has access to the necessary tools and resources to prevent and treat this disease. Join the conversation on World Malaria Day by sharing your stories, experiences, and actions to prevent malaria. Together, we can make a difference and ensure a healthier, more equitable world for all. . . https://lnkd.in/d25Ami3q . . 🌍🦟#WorldMalariaDay #Malaria #EndMalaria #GlobalHealth #PublicHealth #InfectiousDiseases #Dengue #Vaccine #HealthForAll #Mosquito #Healthcare #HealthEquity #FightAgainstMalaria #Symptoms #Awareness #Prevention #Treatment #Staysafe #StayHealthy #India #Indonesia #Global #Medical #Wellness #Panaceiaso

TAKE ACTION TOGETHER, TOGETHER TAKE ACTION Today is #WorldMosquitoDay which aims to raise awareness of mosquito-borne diseases such as #malaria. Coming from a country where contracting Malaria is as common as having a headache, I didn’t quite understand how threatening #malaria was until I almost died from this totally preventable and treatable disease while I was 11, and while at nursing school where I saw children die from malaria, pregnant mothers having miscarriages, as a result of #malaria, neonatal deaths and how bad it gets for #PLWHIV with low CD4 cell counts. Today #malaria is still responsible for a significant morbidity and mortality especially in sub-Saharan Africa and in children below 5 years, pregnant mothers and #PLWHIV. Together we will strive to continue taking action to #BeatMalaria and achieve a #malariafree society by using preventive measures like bed nets and mosquito repellents, eliminating mosquito breeding sites, timely diagnosis and treatment, we can reduce malaria risk. 25 April 2024 Accelerating the fight against malaria for a more equitable world That is the theme of for World Malaria Day 2024 to highlight the urgent global campaign to raise in raising awareness for malaria prevention, detection and treatment services. According to the World Health Organisation (WHO) global efforts to reduce malaria have stagnated in recent years. This poses a significant threat to public health and exacerbating inequalities within communities. Everyone has the right to quality, timely and affordable malaria services, yet this remains elusive for to many, perpetuating a cycle of inequity that affects the most vulnerable among us. Infants and young children, especially those under five, are particularly affected, with disparities in access to education and financial resources compounding their risk. Let us "Accelerate the fight against malaria for a more equitable world" through: - Ending discrimination and stigma - Engaging communities in health decision-making - Bringing healthcare close to where people live and work through primary health care - Addressing factors that increase malaria risk - Including malaria control interventions in universal health coverage Together, let us commit to accelerating the fight against malaria, forging partnerships and implementing evidence-based strategies to achieve a more equitable world where no one is left behind in our quest to end malaria for good. #PROUDLYMISA #MISACARES #MISAONTHEMOVE #MISAFAMILY
