Word of the day is.... "Evergreening" ⬇️ Evergreening is an industry practice where a pharmaceutical company extends the patent life of a drug by making minor modifications to the drug itself or to the delivery device used for administering the medication. As an example, Novo Nordisk has secured 25 patents for Ozempic 💉, but only 4 of them are directly related to the drug itself. The remaining 21 patents focus on the design and functionality of the injectable pen used to administer the medication. 😠 https://lnkd.in/gxBS6gt7

These linkers are composed of a DOTA chelator and a polyethylene glycol (PEG) chain. The DOTA moiety is used to bind to metal ions such as copper, gallium or lutetium, while the PEG chain provides stability and solubility to the resulting conjugate.
