Pando Electric’s Post

ChargePoints’s recent news highlights a growing concern in the EV industry: cable theft and vandalism. Their cut-resistant cables come at a high cost in R&D and could increase prices for consumers. But what if there’s already a simpler, more cost-effective solution? At Pando Electric, we’re addressing this with a socket-based system that eliminates cables, ensuring both durability and security. Think about it: when’s the last time your outlet had problems? That’s the reliability we’re bringing to EV charging. Here’s why Pando’s solution stands out: ⚡ Cable-Free Design: Eliminates cables, reducing vandalism risks and failure points. 💪 Built to Last: Handles 15,000 plug/unplug cycles—equivalent to 40 years of use. 🔧 Low Maintenance: Designed for maintenance-free operation, cutting costs and disruptions. We’re not just building EV chargers—we’re redefining what they can be. What do you think about this approach to EV charging? Let’s discuss in the comments! #EVcharging #PandoElectric #innovation #multifamily #theftproof #security #electricvehicles #futureofcharging #sustainableliving #smarttechnology

I do think simpler is preferable and Pando Electric's approach is a practical take on that simplicity. Given that the company sparked this topic, I noted that ChargePoint's CEO commented on BYOC solutions in a recent interview on this topic: “that’s a whole different, miserable user experience, in my opinion.” Obviously the product line places them firmly in the attached cables camp, but it was still rather dismissive for a solution that works well across Europe and is gathering momentum in North America.
