𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 When we got the call from this urban wastewater treatment plant, we knew that managing high volumes of bio-solids was their pressing challenge. They were facing escalating handling and disposal costs, and the situation demanded an innovative solution. We immediately put together a dedicated team to visit our client and conduct a thorough assessment. During this evaluation, we realized the existing system was inefficient, costly, and unsustainable. The plant needed a game-changing approach to handle the bio-solids effectively. Working closely with the customer, we designed and implemented a state-of-the-art dewatering system. This advanced technology significantly reduced the volume of biosolids, thereby cutting down disposal costs. Our collaborative efforts ensured that the solution was perfectly tailored to meet the plant's specific needs. The results were nothing short of transformative. We managed to lower bio-solids handling costs by 40%, enhance regulatory compliance, and boost the operational sustainability of the facility. This success was a testament to our commitment to providing innovative and efficient solutions. 💧 How to improve wastewater management in your production facility? 💧 Our business partners often face the challenge of managing wastewater. On one hand, they must comply with increasing regulations, while on the other, management puts pressure on keeping costs as low as possible. To make things more complex, CSR and environmental responsibility have also become critical factors in today’s business landscape. 🌍 To navigate these challenges PRAB, Inc., helps guide businesses through the process, starting with three key steps: 1️⃣ Start with a feasibility study – define what your process water and wastewater treatment system should achieve. Is the goal to reduce costs, enhance sustainability, or avoid hazardous waste liabilities? While all of these are important, it’s critical at this stage to identify the primary objective. 2️⃣ Analyze the composition of wastewater – conduct an analysis in a certified laboratory to determine the contaminants in the waste stream. Every facility is different, and accurate data will help identify the right treatment and recycling equipment needed to achieve your goals. 3️⃣ Perform pilot testing – actively collaborate with your equipment provider to test fluid samples under real production conditions. This is the most effective way to verify whether the selected system meets your operational and production requirements. After this initial assessment, you can proceed with a more in-depth analysis and tailor the solution to your production facility’s specific needs. Technologies such as automated pH adjustment, ultrafiltration, or reverse osmosis are just a few examples of systems that can efficiently treat rinse water from metal finishing or plating processes, allowing it to be reused in production. 🔄 If this issue resonates with you, or if you’d like to have an informal chat, feel free to send me a message on LinkedIn. 💬 ______________________________ #InnovateWithKMC #KMCGlobal #PRAB #WastewaterManagement #IndustrialEfficiency #WaterRecycling #SustainableManufacturing #FiltrationSystems

Join us at the Utility Solid Waste Activities Group (USWAG), Advanced PCB Workshop, April 9-11, 2024, in Atlanta, Georgia. David Blye, CEAC, will present PCB Disposal Rule: Changes to the Extraction and Analytical Methods on April 10, 2024, from 1:15 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. The Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) (Part 761 of CFR Title 40) regulates PCB cleanup and disposal, specifying extraction and analytical methods. Outdated techniques prompted US EPA's proposed rulemaking in October 2021 to update and expand methods. Finalized in August 2023, these changes, effective February 2, 2024, improve PCB waste characterization and cleanup verification. Mr. Blye’s presentation will review the PCB extraction methods, analytical determinative methods, and the PCB methods proposed, but not added to Part 761.
