In 2024, a notable heavy marine construction project is the ongoing expansion of the Port of Long Beach Middle Harbor Terminal. This ambitious project, often highlighted for its scale and complexity, involves the modernization and consolidation of two container terminals into one of the world’s most advanced, greenest, and most efficient shipping terminals. Key Details: Project Scope: The project includes the construction of new wharves, deeper berths, an expanded on-dock rail yard, and cutting-edge container handling technology. It's designed to accommodate the largest container ships in the world while significantly reducing environmental impacts through electrification and other green technologies. Technological Integration: The terminal features automated cranes, electric vehicles, and state-of-the-art digital systems to enhance efficiency and reduce emissions, marking a significant step toward the future of sustainable port operations. Completion and Impact: Expected to be fully operational by late 2024, the Middle Harbor Terminal will increase the port's capacity to handle 3.3 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) annually. This project is seen as a benchmark in marine construction, combining innovative design, environmental stewardship, and cutting-edge technology. This project is a prime example of successful heavy marine construction, showcasing advanced engineering solutions and significant environmental benefits that align with global efforts to reduce the carbon footprint of maritime activities

Tesla gigafactory can stamp frame, weld, and connect a finished Tesla M3 every 30 seconds! I presume this stat includes all 5 gigs factories running at same time? Tesla has good market penetration, rap, and rep, multisector products and by products for scalable electrification for entire cities. Good time now to get electric license for installs. BUT BATTERY storage cannot be the only method of storing power in demand! There is not enough lithium, nickel metal, etc… Practical Potential energy storage and use must one of the following methods: 1) hydrogen - oxygen electrolysis of water and storage and fuel cell usage. 2) physical power storage via pumping air under water air balloons 3) or pumping water to higher level hydro electric dam. Tesla and SpaceX has not peaked just yet. Not until 90% of long haul rig trucks and pickup trucks are electrified!
