Dans le cadre de sa mission au #Sénégal, la #PARM, en partenariat avec le Ministère de l’Agriculture et de l’Equipement Rural, a développé le Projet de Gestion des Risques Agricoles pour une Agriculture Durable (#PGRAAD). La mission de la #PARM au #Burundi s’est achevée avec des rencontres fructueuses avec les entités gouvernementales et les principaux bailleurs de fonds et partenaires actifs dans le secteur agricole et du développement rural du pays. Ces échanges ont servi à identifier les grandes lignes du projet d’investissement en cours d’élaboration avec l’appui de la PARM pour une durée de 15 ans dans les filières riz, maïs et lapin. Il se focalisera sur 4 composantes : 📚 Renforcement des capacités en gestion des risques climatiques, sanitaires et économiques ; 🐇 Développement des filières prioritaires ; 🏗 Amélioration des infrastructures ; et ⌛ Renforcement de la coordination, la facilitation et l’anticipation. In #Ghana, PARM is supporting the Government under the Planting for Food and Jobs Phase 2 (PFJ 2.0) programme in the design of an investment project focusing on the poultry 🐓, soybean 🫛, and tomato 🍅 value chains. The design mission which took place from 12 to 23 August culminated in the presentation of an Aide-Memoire to the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA) during a technical meeting held on 23 August in #Accra whereby the Ministry was represented by the Chief Director Paul Siameh, alongside senior officials from MOFA. The key components of the project include strengthening risk management capacities, enhancing farmer-based organizations (FBOs), and promoting agricultural risk management coordination, policy engagement, and advocacy. The initiative will provide technical assistance, capacity building, and access to finance for FBOs, as well as introduce climate-smart technologies and inclusive governance processes to reduce agricultural risks and improve resilience. The project, to be developed under the leadership of MOFA, will involve partnerships with the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics ICRISAT, the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), and its subsidiaries—the Crops Research Institute and the Animal Research Institute. Au #Burundi, la #PARM et le Ministère de l'Environnement, de l'Agriculture et de l'Elevage (MINEAGRIE) poursuivent leurs efforts pour renforcer la résilience et la capacité de gestion des risques des acteurs des chaînes de valeur du #maïs 🌽 , #riz 🌾 et #lapin 🐇. Du 26/08 au 06/09, la PARM mènera une mission de conception d’un projet d’investissement bancable. Ce dernier visera à renforcer la résilience du secteur agricole dans ces trois filières face aux risques climatiques et de marché, en adoptant une approche globale de gestion des risques.   Pour la formulation de ce projet, la PARM, sous l’orientation du MINEAGRIE, sera accompagnée d’experts de International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), International Rice Research Institute, CABI Research Insights et Auxfin Burundi.
