The Account Engineer prioritizes exposures, helps all parties understand the risks and hazards to the insured's business, develops cost-effective solutions, and drives risk improvement. Ensure insured clients/prospects have a clear understanding and agreement on key hazards and the overall impact of exposures. Achieve risk improvement through creative and cost-effective solutions, aligning with a well-developed account strategy. Effectively manage change by communicating with insureds and broker partners. Manage relationships with insureds and broker partners in the field of engineering. Support new business opportunities, which may include conducting visits to potential clients. Develop and manage an engineering resource plan that meets the needs of both AFM and individual insured clients. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience/background. Minimum of 3 years of experience in facility hazards field engineering. Speed in scoping a risk and writing an estimate is certainly desirable but not at the expense of quality service and product. Many adjusters make this mistake and it eventually costs them…sometimes ending their careers. Independent field adjusters are independent contractors who are 100% responsible for their service and product to the IA firms, carriers, and their insureds. Time is money therefore, create work systems which allow you maintain elevated levels of efficiency and professionalism.
