🚑 THE EMERGENCY FUND 🚑 helped a Minnesota kitty recently with his urgent veterinary care. Squeaker was in pain; he was panting and pacing for 6 hours; he was very sick. Squeaker was going in and out of the litter box often but producing little urine. His elderly mom suspected a urinary tract infection and rushed him to a low-cost veterinary clinic. Squeaker’s mom paid for an exam and urinalysis which confirmed that Squeaker had a UTI. He was prescribed antibiotics and pain medication however his mom had depleted what money she had and could not afford any further treatment for Squeaker. Heartbroken, she took Squeaker home empty-handed. Luckily, her neighbor had heard about us and helped Squeaker’s mom apply for financial assistance. 🙏 The Emergency Fund helped with the cost of Squeaker’s medication; without it, Squeaker’s condition could have deteriorated rapidly and become life-threatening if he developed a urinary blockage. 🙀 The Emergency Fund steps in when a pet parent is having a difficult time and needs a few hundred dollars to get their furbaby the medication they need to live long and healthy lives. The Emergency Fund is vital to our mission. Please consider donating to the Emergency Fund today to help more pets in 2024. Your contribution will make all the difference in giving these furry friends the care they deserve. Monthly Donations SAVE Lives EVERY DAY! 💕 Responsible pet parents living paycheck-to-paycheck often make heart-wrenching decisions if their beloved pet gets sick or injured because they can't afford hundreds or thousands of dollars for their veterinary care. These pet owners are often forced to surrender or euthanize their pets. In these situations, euthanasia would be unnecessary if the pet received the proper medical care. These pets are being put down for no other reason than lack of funding. If the owners surrender them, unfortunately, overrun shelters often euthanize them. 😿 That's where donations come in. We help fund emergency veterinary care so that pets do not have to be euthanized or surrendered unnecessarily. The pets get the medical care they need and return to their loving homes. Whether you can donate $5,10 or 50 a month, it will benefit every pet we help save. We have the huge task of raising Rs. 1,25,000 in the next 45 days! We have taken up some big responsibilities this month. It's the puppy and kitten season, so we are seeing more cases of parvo, paralysis and abandonment. Added to this are our previous commitments for our previous rescues and the animals we care for, on the streets. Our cost break-up is as follows: 1. Clear veterinary bills for treatment of special needs cats, ongoing treatment for dogs with cancer and paralysis, and a parvo affected puppy. (Expected to be Rs. 30,000) 2. Clear construction bills of the accessory netting and doors of the cattery. (Rs. 25,000) 3. Pay part of our foster bills. (Rs. 20,000) 4. Sterilise 12 dogs who are stuck in the cycle of mating and dying puppies (Rs. 30,000) 5. Vaccinate dogs on the streets with 9-in-1 vaccines (Rs. 20,000) Our fundraiser link is now live: https://lnkd.in/gWDMWzWm

THE EMERGENCY FUND plays a crucial role in providing a safety net for pets needing urgent and life-saving veterinary care. Throughout the year, the Emergency fund has been instrumental in ensuring that pets like Gizmo, Tommy, Loki, Prescott, Nala, Charlie the dog, Samson, and Sergio received the medical care they desperately needed. Their urgent veterinary care was 100% funded by the Emergency Fund. 🚑 It is heartwarming to witness the impact of the Emergency Fund on the lives of these beloved pets and the families that love them. The Emergency Fund steps in during times of crisis but also helps when we fall short on our fundraising efforts for pets like Hawi, Crook, and Mitzi and pets like Umusa & Loki who need additional treatment or medications to control their medical conditions. The Emergency Fund also steps in to help with end-of-life care for pets like Little Bitty and Magick. No pet should have to suffer until the end because their family can not afford the cost. 🌈 The Emergency Fund also helps Miko, Kilo, Khaleesi, and Max with their prescription food to manage their ongoing medical conditions, when we have exhausted the funds in the Feed A Rescue Pet Fund. As we approach the middle of the year, there is a pressing need to replenish the Emergency Fund to ensure that it remains a valuable resource for pet parents in distress. Your support and contributions are vital in sustaining this lifeline for pets in need. Please join us in our mission to save lives and provide a second chance to beloved pets in crisis. 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗷𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀. A moment of carelessness on the road can forever change the life of an innocent animal. Every year, countless dogs suffer from spine injuries—left paralyzed, trapped in their own bodies, and unable to express their agony. These poor souls are condemned to a life of perpetual suffering, not because of their actions, but because of a fleeting moment of human recklessness. Look into the eyes of these animals. They didn’t ask for this. They live in constant pain, dragging their broken bodies, often becoming victims again because they can no longer move. Some see them as a nuisance for losing control of their bladder or bowels, but we see them for what they truly are—innocent beings who need our compassion. The power to stop this suffering lies in our hands. It takes nothing more than driving with care. The next time you’re on the road, whether you’re driving or sitting in a cab, remind those around you to be mindful. One small reminder can prevent a lifetime of wordless suffering for these animals, who don’t have a voice to tell us how much they hurt. From our hearts, we urge you to help save these animals from lives of unimaginable pain. A little caution today can prevent an innocent life from enduring the unthinkable tomorrow. £7,165 a month in your bank, but still children are suffering? The NSPCC has a new CEO… Protecting children is something that is deeply close and personal to my heart, and something I have worked hard in my career for - so congratulations to Chris Sherwood for becoming CEO on £140,000-150,000 a year. But should protecting children, from an office in the bowels of gentrified Shoreditch, cost £7,165+ (after tax) rolling in your bank account every month? That’s not to mention the 3 deputies that are on £120,000-130,000 a year! Are we really going to accept that - in a country that continues to see children fall through the net and child safeguarding reviews are almost on a monthly cycle - the people in these posts care in the centre of their heart about protecting our children? A few years ago, I stayed on the phone to the emergency duty team at 9pm because a child was potentially being abused. My shift finished at 6pm. I was on below the average salary, but I worked extra hard, for free to stop another abused child. The breakdown of the NSPCC top earners is here: £60k to £70k - 35 employees £70k to £80k - 17 “ £80k to £90k - 10 “ £100k to £110k - 2 “ £110k to £120k - 1 “ £120k to £130k - 3 “ £140k to £150k - 1 “ (https://lnkd.in/erMPe6g8) I’m not saying get rid of the NSPCC, but we have the priorities all wrong. When is the time we have a conversation about skills vs money vs protection vs morals for big charity?
We're delighted to announce the appointment of Chris Sherwood as the new Chief Executive of the NSPCC. Chris will take up the position in January 2025, having served as Chief Executive of the RSPCA, the world's oldest and largest animal protection charity, since August 2018. Chris said: “I am thrilled to be joining the NSPCC. I firmly believe in a society where all children are not just protected from harm, but they have the support, kindness and respect needed to live happy, joyful and fulfilling lives and be the best version of themselves.” Read more: https://lnkd.in/dPKnciyi

Anyone who knows me, knows my passion for animals. We all struggle at times, mentally, financially, etc. Animal Rescues are particularly hurting this year. An influx of animals causing the rescues to be full, while still trying to help with rising costs of Veterinary care, food, supplies while donations are decreasing is causing extreme stress and mental health on the management. Our communities need all our rescues and shelters, but unfortunately, some may not survive beyond this year. Please don’t forget your local rescues/shelters. Donations of supplies: food, toys, treats but also cleaning supplies, paper towels, mops, brooms etc are also appreciated. Volunteers are also needed especially fosters. A $5 donation can go along way! If everyone donated $5/month to a rescue-$60/year, the total amount would be huge and the impact in communities would be visible quickly! Picture is Baby Ali. He is wearing an 18 month toddler sock as a sweater. He is a miracle and survived due to EB Feline Rescue and Rehoming. If wanting to learn more, see their Facebook page. Lennox Legacy Rescue (Facebook: https://lnkd.in/gBit7Ybe ) is a small horse and dog rescue in Indiana. They save horses that are thrown away to meat buyers. They rescue puppies and breeder dogs that are just a commodity. They need help just like so many others. #EBFelineRescueandRehoming #LennoxLegacyRescue
