We are so proud to feature in the new Australian Food and Grocery Council (AFGC) Sustaining Australia series. The short film is a testament to our sustainability goals and the journey we are on across the business. Our innovation team successfully created a packaging solution that can withstand thousands of kilometres of transportation, sub-zero temperatures and the heat of an oven. Developing, manufacturing, and delivering products in paper packaging is no mean feat, and after years of innovation and development, we are thrilled to share the story of the people that made it happen. Thank you to our long-term partners at Ritchies Stores IGA for coming on board with the trial of Four’N Twenty’s paper packaging.

No one wants to be the guy in the pub ordering a veggie burger. 🍔 Or so our research told us a few years back. 𝗛𝗮𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗱? 🤔 Our latest polling shows that men are much less likely than women to think that eating less meat & dairy is a good way of reducing their environmental impact. • But overall, the conversation has changed hugely in recent years. • And what's the main driver of meat & dairy reduction? • 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿𝗻𝘀. 🧑⚕️ And cost? • Well, it’s not as a big of a barrier as you might think. • 55% perceive plant-based food to be more expensive than meat & dairy • But only 24% of people claim this stops them from eating or buying less of these foods. There's more on this below: swipe below for the inside scoop, and keep an eye out for more insights from our latest polling. 👀 Interested in exploring ways to help people make simple switches to their diet that are good for the environment? More food base posts I’m catching up on this morning and before breakfast —- 🍳 🥘 I haven’t eaten meat for many many years but I’m not fully vegan or vegetarian- fish is still on the menu for me. At Eco Communities we are supporting Food for the Planet - the pledge for business asks as a start: Reduce Meat Servings - Reduce the amount of meat and dairy you serve by at least 25%. Switch to better meat and dairy - Source at least 25% of your meat and dairy from higher welfare, more environmentally friendly sources. #sustainablefood Thanks Hubbub and Alex Robinson

Navigating responsible and #sustainablefood choices is a common challenge for consumers. With Americans spending $1 trillion annually on food, individual decisions cumulatively impact food systems and the environment meaningfully. Policymakers are taking steps to embed responsible choices in public institutions through initiatives like the Good Food Purchasing Program (GFPP). Originating as a pilot in Los Angeles schools, the GFPP has expanded nationwide, with success stories in Chicago and New York City. An Anchors in Action (AiA) Framework was launched recently by The #RockefellerFoundation to extend the initiative to hospitals, universities and major institutions, empowering them to demand better food from suppliers. As we transitioned from gardens to grocery stores, ethical and sustainable challenges emerged in our food system. Supermarkets became a symbol of convenience, consumption, and obscured information that influence today's food landscape. But, the farm-to-table movement is emerging to reconnect us with local origins, support producers, and foster a more sustainable and interconnected food system. How can it compete with the convenience of supermarkets? Read more at: https://lnkd.in/gBTXm_aD

I’m so inspired to see highly creative, values-driven innovations like Sowly come onto the food landscape. It’s a C-change from super fast, mass produced, unconscious #bigagriculture and personally I think this kind of movement can’t come quick enough. As a behavioural eating coach, a theme I often explore with clients is the symbiosis between conscious eating (selecting, preparing, sharing, assimilating) and the myriad consequential health benefits that ensue. Awareness and consistent action = lasting change at my client’s level, and it’s the same with Sowly ‘s broader vision. If consumers can directly influence — first through awareness and then conscious consumerism — the fields, soil health, and farmer’s wellbeing before it reaches our fork, chances are the health of humans and planet will also significantly uplevel. Well done Natália Baránková for getting this venture off the ground. I can’t wait to learn more. 🌱🌱🌱 #sustainability #behaviouraleatingcoach #supplychains #soilhealth #fieldtofork #consciousconsumerism

Introducing the Circle Up Food Coalition! Our mission? To spearhead a revolutionary shift towards a circular food system. How? By transforming food waste into nutrient-rich products that combat climate change and uplift communities. Let's face it: Food waste isn't just an environmental crisis; it's a humanitarian one too. Every year, billions of tons of agricultural waste plague our planet, fueling climate change and environmental degradation. In the U.S. alone, a staggering 130 billion pounds of food are squandered annually, exacerbating greenhouse gas emissions and depleting precious resources. But here's the kicker: While we're drowning in waste, millions face hunger every day. Food insecurity is on the rise, and it's time to take action. That's where we come in. The Circle Up Food Coalition isn't just about talk; it's about tangible solutions. Join us as we disrupt the status quo, turning waste into wealth and scarcity into abundance. Together, we'll forge a future where everyone has access to nutritious food, and our planet thrives. Are you ready to be part of the change? Attend our upcoming event: https://lnkd.in/gzfw-Ss4 #CircleUp #Food #Upcycle #ClimateChange #FoodWaste #Environment #FinnovationLab

Redefine Meat are proud sponsors of this year's The Universal Cookery & Food Festival (UCFF)! We'll be at this year's show, demonstrating how our portfolio of ethical, sustainable new-meat products can help consumers play their part in reducing their meat consumption and protecting the environment. If you're heading to the show, be sure not to miss our very own Edwin Bark, who will be discussing how new-meat plays a key part in reducing the environmental impact of the food we eat, on the "Grown Up Food" panel talk. Sound interesting? Take a look at Edwin's recent discussion with ProVeg International on how we're Redefining the meat industry. #Time_to_Redefine #Environment #Sustainability,

Packaging sustainability is a great way to reduce the impact of consumer goods on the planet, but companies may run the risk of “greenwashing” their products. To avoid making products seem more environmentally friendly than they are, CRB's Katie Ireland and Mary Jo Werlein of Adept Group (Adept Packaging) will discuss approaches to address sustainability effectively in packaging at this year’s 🐾Petfood Forum Events.
