Call to all companies. We know in business that the tide is turning towards sustainability and accountability. You are either part of the problem or part of the solution to climate change, mass extinction, ecocide, marine conservation.....the list seems endless. Worry not (it doesn't do any good anyway!). Did you know there are countless projects underway world wide making real change. You can be part of it. There's plenty of evidence out there that points towards a real benefit in placing the fight against #climatechange #ecocide #biodiversityloss at the heart of your business. But how? It's easier than you think. Here's an organisation that's nailing partnership for conservation world wide - see link below... In addition to EOCA European Outdoor Conservation Association I'd also urge you to contact Dan Wood or Adam Bastock . They are well placed to advice you on where to start your journey. The benefits will positively impact your whole workforce. Please share widely. Let's get the message out there! https://lnkd.in/erApVybu

A lot of people, organizations and governments are doing incredible restoration work across Canada, including at WWF-Canada. But we need more if we're going to hit our ambitious 30% restoration target in the Global Biodiversity Framework: -more commitments -more tracking -more types of restoration in more ecosystems -more stewardship -and above all, more partnership and collaboration. Today at COP-16 we announced the launch of something we're calling Mission Restoration, an invitation to large land and rights holders to be a part of a collective action to reach Canada’s restoration commitments, so we can work *together* to realize benefits for wildlife, nature and people. If you are interesting in joining partners in conservation like Secwepemcúl’ecw Restoration and Stewardship Society, Katzie First Nation:, ALUS, the Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority (NVCA), Conservation Ontario and Environment and Climate Change Canada we would love to have you be a part of Mission Restoration, and of this incredible opportunity to restore the lands and waters we depend on. Please share widely!! https://lnkd.in/eGtJFihS

A collaborative agenda for advancing conservation beyond protected areas through 'other effective area-based conservation measures' (OECMs) was recently developed by 80 colleagues from across the Latin America and Caribbean region. Conservation is changing, and the OECM framework is helping to evolve WHO the main actors are and HOW they are conserving nature, addressing climate change, and generating sustainable livelihoods. Here is Lucía Ruiz Bustos (Director, Conservation Areas at WWF) speaking to just that: “If we want to achieve the target of conserving 30% of the planet by the end of this decade, we need to work in partnerships, we need to work collaboratively, and we need to ensure that the agendas are inclusive, effective, and equitable. OECMs offer a big opportunity to change the conservation paradigm to advance this ambitious target.” Please watch the excellent video below which highlights the diversity of voices represented at the workshop, and you can read more about the collaborative agenda here: https://lnkd.in/er_dzgs6 The event and both outputs were ably supported by Emelin Gasparrini and Yaneris Soto Muniz (Comms, Earth for Life, WWF)

30,000,000 trees by 2035 💚💚 Baro'u, Saivou, Ra #reforestation #climatechange #nature #trees #sustainability #climateaction #climatecrisis
In a groundbreaking achievement for Fijian-led conservation, the Barotu community has been awarded an incredible US$500,000 contract under Fiji’s Jobs for Nature Program. 🎉 Their mission? To supply 400,000 seedlings for Fiji’s bold goal of planting 30 million trees. 🌳 But this is about more than just trees — it’s about building climate resilience, protecting freshwater sources, and creating sustainable livelihoods for local people. These seedlings will combat soil erosion, prevent floods, and safeguard biodiversity, supporting a greener future for all Fijians. 🇫🇯 💡 Did you know: Restoring native forests strengthens food security and shields Fiji’s landscapes from the impacts of climate change.

Conservation is something that resonates deeply with me, and it’s not just because I care about plants and animals—though I definitely do. It’s about so much more than that. Conservation is about preserving the delicate balance of our planet, ensuring that future generations can experience the same wonders of nature that we enjoy today. It’s about recognizing our role as stewards of the Earth, and understanding that our actions have far-reaching consequences. One of the things I love most about conservation is the sense of hope it brings. In a world where we’re constantly reminded of environmental challenges—deforestation, species extinction, climate change—conservation offers a way forward. It’s a reminder that we can make a difference, that our collective efforts can lead to real, positive change. Whether it’s protecting an endangered species, restoring a damaged ecosystem, or simply reducing our own carbon footprint, every action counts.

In a recent article by Forbes, Kenya’s verdant Chyulu Hills, the government, local and indigenous organizations, and Conservation International established a carbon project that is “rewriting the narrative for communities and nature alike, providing that sustainability, conservation, and livelihoods can go hand in hand.” “It’s a model for what’s next, not just for the climate, but for local people-by local people” Bruno Vander Velde Conservation International To read the full article, click on the link https://lnkd.in/dcEBmGuf #climatechange #chyuluhills #communutyledconsevation#holisticapproach #carboncredits #climatecrisis #forestprotection #conservation #reforestation #cloudforest #naturebasedsolutions #naturebasedlearning #landrestoration#carbonneutral #livelihoods #sustainability #communityconservation #climateaction #communityledconservation

Environmental conservation is crucial for the well-being of the community as it ensures the sustainability of natural resources for future generations. By protecting ecosystems, we maintain clean air, water, and fertile soils, which are essential for health, agriculture, and local economies. Conservation also helps mitigate the impacts of climate change, reducing risks such as floods and droughts. Additionally, preserving biodiversity ensures that communities benefit from a rich variety of plants and animals that support ecological balance. Engaging in conservation efforts fosters a sense of responsibility and unity in protecting our shared environment for a better quality of life. #ClimateWavers #SafeandHealthyEnvironment

Wetlands are vital ecosystems that provide numerous benefits, including supporting biodiversity, filtering water, preventing floods, and serving as habitats for diverse plant and animal species. They deliver essential ecosystem services, such as water filtration, flood control, and carbon sequestration, while also playing a crucial role in mitigating climate change by sequestering carbon, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and providing natural buffers against extreme weather events. There is a concerning lack of consideration for biodiversity, reflecting a mindset that undervalues its importance.
Wetlands in Peril: Join the Fight for Preservation and Protection Wetlands are unique and diverse ecosystems that play a crucial role in maintaining ecological balance, supporting biodiversity, and providing essential services to humans. Covering only 6% of the Earth's surface, they can be found on every continent, encompassing various types such as marshes, swamps, bogs, and fens. These ecosystems are vital for numerous reasons: they are biodiversity hotspots, filter water, control floods, support recreation and tourism, ensure food security, regulate the climate, and sequester carbon – storing twice as much carbon as all the world's forests in the form of peat. However, wetlands face severe threats from habitat degradation, pollution, climate change, and invasive species. To combat these challenges, conservation efforts are underway, focusing on: - Protected areas - Sustainable land-use planning - Restoration and rehabilitation - Community engagement and education - International cooperation Join the fight to preserve and protect these vital ecosystems. Together, we can make a difference and ensure the long-term health of our planet.
