It was great to attend panel discussion on ‘Sustainable Horizons: Navigating ESG and Policy in India’ over last weekend. Panel discussion delved into the intricate intersection of Environmental, Social, and Governance (#ESG) principles and policy landscapes in #India. Key learnings for me: 1. ESG reporting standards and frameworks, Board room focus on ESG, Corporates looking beyond compliance, BRSR and having short term and long term tracks for sustainability 2. An integrated approach, mapping and reporting impact of CSR activities on the SDGs 3. View ESG from the perspective of being a profit driver 4. It was great to understand the aspect of First Mover Disadvantage for companies wanting to make a change and few strategies to overcome this. Eg Airlines moving to clean fuel 5. Effectively using Circular Economy as a tool towards sustainability 6. Impact and liquidity of carbon credit; 7. MSME challenges and approach to ESG 8.
