I am excited to share our collaborative research on an innovative psychoanalytic approach to treating postpartum depression and early mother-infant relationships. This article, published in the Journal of Infant, Child, and Adolescent Psychotherapy, explores the journey of a severely depressed mother and her infant through individual therapy enhanced by mother-infant video feedback sessions. Key findings: 🔛 The power of collaborative therapy, where mother and infant are treated together alongside individual therapy. 💡 How video feedback can transform a mother's perception of her baby's behaviors and foster healthier attachment. 👶 Practical implications for clinicians working with depressed mothers and infants showing developmental delays. This work underlines the profound impact of tailored interventions that support both the mother's mental health and the developing mother-infant bond. We invite researchers, scholars, and students to explore this detailed case study and consider the broader applications of these techniques in clinical practice.
