Welcome to the team, Thy Thy Nguyen! When asked why she chose a job with Colorado PERA, she said, “As a previous state employee, I was able to reap the benefits of being under a PERA covered state employer. The customer service that I received from PERA as a state employee was superb. Because of this I wanted to continue my HR career specifically in PERA. I also knew of other friends who have worked previously for PERA before, and their reviews of the company were wonderful.” Learn more about building a career at PERA: copera.org/careers

Today, many of us around the world intentionally acknowledge important love and friendship relationships in our lives. Take the time to also celebrate the MEANINGFUL CONNECTIONS AT WORK. Those are relationships that foster TRUST, COLLABORATION, and MUTUAL SUPPORT, that can help you achieve career goals and learn new skills together. - If you are in the office, set time aside to share a coffee/tea or to have lunch with your colleagues and remind them how important they are to you. - If your company has an internal recognition system, take the time to recognize colleagues. - Write a handwritten note or an email message to those colleagues with whom you have a meaningful connection. And remember, you can do this all year long.

What do you enjoy the most about the people you work with? If you ask someone how they’re going at work and it’s not great, then it usually has something to do with people…colleagues, boss, stakeholders, vendors, customers…. The people we work with have such a major influence on our experience and enjoyment at work. I stumbled upon the below image “green flags for co-workers” and it got me thinking. We always know when things are not right….but how do you know when you work with great people? What are your Green Flags for a great co-worker? ⭐️ for a bonus point…tag some who is a great colleague. We don’t often enough show gratitude to the people who deserve it

Here are four ways we cultivate culture here at Sudburys! · Celebrating our work anniversary: This is a dedicated time to recognise the contributions of each team member. · We have 90-day reviews: A safe place to provide feedback and support and a place to talk about growth and development. · Weekly ½ hour team meetings: Time to align our goals for the week, communicate effectively, and ensure everyone feels heard and valued. · An annual team day: A day once a year dedicated to fostering camaraderie, relationship building, and where to from here. As Nikita Tomlinson says "Culture is a bit like sport success – it doesn’t happen overnight, and it takes practice, practice, practice." Every day we come to work is a continuation of practicing our core values which sets the tone for our culture but man is it worth it. We are so proud of our team and the culture here at Sudburys.

In the spirit of fostering a positive work environment, let's take a moment to reflect on the many blessings we have in our professional lives. It's essential to shift our focus from complaints about work to embracing gratitude for the opportunities and positions we hold. 🌈 While facing challenges is part of any job, let's remember that our current roles might be the dream positions for others. Many individuals are tirelessly searching for employment and aspire to be in the positions we currently occupy. 💼 As we navigate our daily tasks, let's cultivate an atmosphere of appreciation. Instead of dwelling on complaints, let's channel our energy into making our workplace an even better space for collaboration and success. 🙌 Acknowledging the positive aspects of our jobs not only improves our individual well-being but contributes to a harmonious work culture. So, let's unite in gratitude, respecting the opportunities we have and fostering an environment where everyone can thrive. 🌟 "Gratitude turns what we have into enough." - Aesop

Helping line managers feel more confident in conversations with their team. 1:1 Coaching | Leadership | Confidence Building | Career Coaching
How much do you remember about the successes you've had in your jobs? Do you take a moment to celebrate them and note them down for reflection? When I work with people on their CVs, it's one of the first things I have them work on - they need to use their bullet points as their opportunity to shout about their accomplishments in each role, rather than list their responsibilities. Here's a bit more on what I have to say about it.

At Mister Safety Shoes, caring isn’t just a word; it’s one of our core values. According to our latest Great Place To Work® survey, 90% of our team members believe that we genuinely care about each other. This culture of care is what makes MSS truly special. We believe in recognizing those who go above and beyond to make workdays better for everyone. That’s why we created the Shining Star Award, an employee-nominated honour spotlighted during our annual awards night. It’s our way of giving well-deserved recognition to those who live our value of caring every day. Don’t just take our word for it, hear it directly from one of our Shining Stars, Tina M. (Retail Sales Consultant) - ‘Taking a moment to say “hello” to my fellow workers each day and genuinely ask how they are, being happy for their joys and successes as well as empathetic to any worries they may be facing, lets my co-workers know that I care for them. I believe in celebrating the good and being there for them when things aren’t so good. Mister Safety Shoes people are my fellow workers, but more importantly my friends – my work family. When you work at a company that feels more like a big family – Life is just good’

Let's celebrate National High Five Day! Here are the Top 5 reasons I'm excited to join in the festivities today, and why you should too! 🖐️ Use the comments to send a virtual high five to someone you want to recognize! 🎉 🌟 Instant recognition: Recognition shouldn't be confined to major milestones or achievements; it's equally important to celebrate excellence in everyday tasks and contributions. Whether it's going the extra mile to support a colleague, consistently delivering high-quality work, or embodying the values and ethos of the organization, every effort deserves acknowledgment. High fives provide immediate acknowledgment and validation for a job well done and can be used to celebrate even small wins. 🖐️ 💬Embrace connection: In today's fast-paced and increasingly remote world, meaningful connections are more important than ever. High fives can serve as a physical expression of connection and solidarity, reminding us of the importance of human interaction and support. Virtual high fives using emojis, gifs, or video calls can also evoke the same positive emotion and sense of camaraderie. 🌐🤝 🏆An athlete mindset: Many historians trace the origins of the high five to professional sports, where it evolved from the low five hand gesture popularized in Black communities as a symbol of celebration and camaraderie. High performance work teams (both on and off the field/court) rely on teamwork, resilience, goal setting, continuous improvement, leadership, adaptability, and yes…collective celebration and recognition! 🏀🏅 🚀Powerful motivator: When employees feel seen and appreciated for their contributions, they are more likely to feel motivated and engaged in their work. Acknowledging their efforts not only boosts morale but also encourages them to continue performing at their best. 🌟 🎉Culture of positivity: By consistently recognizing and celebrating achievements, teams can cultivate a culture of positivity, gratitude, and teamwork. When employees see their colleagues being appreciated and rewarded for their hard work, it creates a supportive and collaborative environment where everyone feels encouraged to contribute their best. A positive work culture not only enhances employee satisfaction but also attracts top talent and strengthens the organization's reputation. 👏🌟 Who do you want to recognize on National High Five Day?
