Covering the world of food, wine and spirits, I get to try a lot of interesting things every year, but recently one new taste really jumped out. It was the Redbreast Missouri Oak Edition whiskey, and it was wonderful, one of the best new whiskies I’ve tried in a long time. It’s also an offbeat cultural/geographic mash-up, as Redbreast is a respected old-school Irish whiskey producer, which claims to be the most awarded single pot still whiskey producer on earth, with many gold and double gold medal from prestigious competitions. Unlike most Irish whiskies, which are blends, they make high-end single pot still distillations, typically aged in sherry and bourbon casks like some of the finest single malt Scotches. But in this case, in addition to sherry and bourbon, the whiskey gets time in virgin Missouri Oak barrels from the Ozarks. This is a region of great natural beauty that is known for a lot of things, but high-end whiskey is not one of them. Felene Cranberry Pear Fizz Ingredients: * 1 ½ oz cranberry-infused Felene Vodka * 1 oz pear liqueur * ½ oz lemon juice * 2 oz sparkling wine * Rosemary sprig for garnish Instructions: 1. The so-called single malt whiskey is defined as whiskey brewed from the same distillery. Drinking single malt whiskey can best reflect the flavor and style of the distillery. Sherry barrel-flavored whiskeys produced by different distilleries have completely different flavors. Increased drinking pleasure. With the so-called blended whiskey, you are drinking the blending style of a master. The master blender can choose a variety of whiskey flavors from multiple distilleries to blend a perfect whiskey. I personally feel that drinking single malt whiskey is like making friends with different personalities, while blended whiskey is more like a conversation between you and the master blender.

Ratafiá, ratafía, rataffia, rataffia, retacia, ratafiat... These are similar names for this drink, which has its origins in monasteries in different regions of the Mediterranean, especially Spain, France and Italy. Depending on the method and customs of the geographical area where it is made, the composition varies considerably, either as a liqueur wine or as a liqueur. Ratafia is a sweet drink, to be drunk as an aperitif or at the end of a meal. The French ratafias of Champagne and Burgundy use a wine base and a grape spirit base, the Italian ratafias use black or bitter cherries (amarena) and a wine or grappa base, and the Catalonian Ratafia uses an alcohol base, green walnut, fruit and spices (according to each distillery's recipe). The Catalonian Ratafia is the one with the highest alcoholic content. Not all producers age their ratafias in casks, so the search for casks is sometimes difficult and sometimes successful....Small batch of barrels on sale.
